The police station sprung into action, clearing the area, surveying for any hidden bomb threats, and investigating any related information. All the officers whose tasks were not urgent were summoned to prioritize handling the explosive incident at the station.
Unlike Thirteen District, Seventh District Police Station was located in Area B, not EF. An explosion here was not only heinous in nature but also greatly detrimental to the credibility of the police.
Contrary to the urgent ambiance of the police station, Jiang Shu sat leisurely in Wolf’s office, casually observing the surroundings.
Wolf’s office wasn’t particularly large, with posters haphazardly stuck to the walls. Although they were not neatly arranged, the space was relatively clean, a complete contrast to Sister Ruo’s room.
All the posters in the office depicted the same man, a male figure.
He had western features but a rather average appearance, the sort that would go unnoticed in a crowd.
However, Jiang Shu noticed that the man had a sharp look in his eyes, as if an eagle was trapped within them, revealing its ferocity only upon closer inspection.
On the bottom right of each poster, two characters were written in a special font—"Police Chief".
"Police Chief?" Jiang Shu frowned. This clearly wasn’t a name but rather a title.
Such posters in the police station, especially in Wolf’s office, clearly indicated that this "Police Chief" held a high status and was probably an idol or something to Wolf.
Apart from these posters, there were also stacks of paper files scattered around the office. The files had been opened, some stained with oil and scribbles. These confidential documents were carelessly tossed across the tables and cabinets.
Jiang Shu leaned in for a closer look.
There weren’t many similarities among these files, and the dates they were checked out varied from several months ago to recent times, which looked like Wolf had forgotten to return them and just left them lying around.
"It was done by the Deception Group." Wolf returned and spoke gravely to Jiang Shu, then sent a photo to him.
"Chen Li listed, those who cannot, stop?" Jiang Shu read out the writing on the photo, which was followed by a doodle of a fox grinning mischievously.
He laughed, "This seems to be saying that you guys don’t deserve your positions."
"I can understand that." Wolf’s face turned sour as he cursed, "Damn it, this bunch from the Deception Group is getting more and more brazen."
"We need to arrest a few to set an example." Jiang Shu replied very seriously.
"How are we going to capture them?" Wolf looked at him, eager for his esteemed opinion.
"I don’t know." Jiang Shu simply shook his head, "Is it not your business to catch people? If it were up to me... wouldn’t that just prove the fox right?"
"Hiss—" Even though Wolf knew that Jiang Shu was applying simple laziness, he still found his words to carry weight.
He monopolized the reasoning, which was quite irritating.
"So, what are you planning to do?" With Ding’s relay, Jiang Shu also knew roughly what had happened, thus he was curious about the police station’s next move.
"Not sure." Wolf didn’t answer directly, "Mobilize a large police force and resources to search, but I think..."
At this point, he suddenly turned to check outside the door to ensure no one was there before continuing, "In short term, I think it’s unlikely to catch the fox."
"True, if it were possible, they would have been caught long ago." Jiang Shu agreed with Wolf, "You can only wait for them to slip up, and this time... might be a good opportunity."
