Lazar wanted to break Hao Xuan's resolve so he would not be able to put up a resistance later or even think about escaping. He wanted to have full control over his mind. (Image in authors notes and discord)
He channeled a portion of his own willpower into Hao Xuan's body but upon coming into contact with the chaos energy it disintegrated into nothingness.
A hint of amazement flashed past his face but only for a brief moment. He refocused his energy, this time using almost 10% of it. It went straight for Hao Xuan's brain, trying to wriggle its way in towards his soul to create a soul contract.
To Hao Xuan it felt like someone had reached into the very core of his being, exposing every secret and insecurity he had in an attempt to 'undo' him from inside out.
He knew if he kept staring into Lazar's eyes he would completely lose himself in a matter of seconds but no matter how hard he tried to look away or even close his eyes, nothing worked. His body didn't feel his own anymore.
"NO! GET OUT! GET OUT OF MY HEAD!"
Hao Xuan roared as loudly as he could but couldn't budge more than a few inches. It felt like someone was holding him in place with so much strength that even a hundred of him would not be able to resist it.
And how could he? What Hao Xuan was experiencing was Lazar's territory, the physical manifestation of a refined Law! And to fight against a law with nothing but one's own physical body was simply not possible.
But Hao Xuan did not know this. He could 'feel' the presence of some kind of a supernatural force but had no real idea what it was or how to deal with it so he did what he could.
Channeling more and more strength through his body in a bid to put up a fight, he started injuring himself instead.
"AAAAAAHH!"
Each and every muscle, fiber, and tissue in Hao Xuan's body was put to work. From the tendons and ligaments to his very heart, each organ pulsed with raw power. His shirt ripped open due to the sudden expansion of his muscles that looked like steel ribbons bursting at the seams.
Veins that looked like worms snaking underneath his skin reared their heads.
"Do not resist!"
Another wave of intense mental energy crashed against Hao Xuan's mind, reaching even his mind palace in one stroke. It shook like a raft in a storm. All the severs were forced awake from the sudden commotion.
To them who were stuck in there, it felt like the sky itself was falling down but there was nothing they could do at this point.
Hao Xuan grit his teeth with such strength that the gums ruptured. Blood flowed from every single orifice in his body and then some.
He wouldn't even be able to die at this rate before the temporal energy field ran out and would be stuck in this situation.
Hao Xuan racked his brain in this moment of extreme desperation. If he knew it was going to end this way he would have used his full strength from the start to fight it.
Within a few seconds, the majority of his blood had painted the floor beneath a shade of crimson red. He could feel his energy waning by the second and even though the Chaos law put up a fair bit of resistance against the intruding mental energy, that was all it could do.
Hao Xuan's breath started to weaken. His vision darkened and his senses numbed.
*Beep*
"Warning! Warning!"
"Severe Blood Loss Detected."
"System going into Hypovolemic Shock."
"Organ Failure Imminent!"
"Brain Death in 240 seconds!"
"Employing Countermeasures!"
A wave of nanites rushed through Hao Xuan's blood vessels towards his heart and all the major organs in an attempt to keep them functioning. They were meant to replicate blood cells and close off all open wounds but-
"Countermeasures Unsuccessful."
"Foreign Plasma Cells Detected."
"Unknown Energy Detected."
"Extreme Inter.....fer...en-"
Since Hao Xuan was on the verge of losing consciousness already Baracus's notifications and warnings all fell on deaf ears. He was too busy trying to stay awake.
When a normal person loses more than 20% of their total blood supply, the heart cannot pump a sufficient amount of blood to the rest of the body and goes into shock.
Hao Xuan had lost over 60% of his total blood supply. The only reason he was still not dead was because of his inhuman body but even that had limits, limits that were reached and surpassed.
Most of the blood had spilled out, leaving only copious amounts of Chaos Qi rumbling through mostly empty vessels.
But where was all that energy to go? True to its name, the 'Immortal Devouring Demon Physique' jumped into action and started devouring the Chaos Qi like a thirsty demon, using it to 'create' more blood.
The Chaos Qi was pulled towards Hao Xuan's hearts.
*THUMP* X2
They beat in unison, consuming the energy to create what he was lacking, blood! Only it wasn't ordinary blood anymore.
*Beep*
"Interference Source Identified."
"Blood Purity Level Rising: 14%"
"Lycan Bloodline Detected."
"Blood Purity Level Rising: 17%"
"Blood Purity Level Rising: 19%"
"Blood Purity Level Rising: 32%"
"Blood Purity Level Rising: 48%"
"Bloodline Integrated and Stabilized".
"System returning to normal."
Lazar who was grinning ear to ear while watching Hao Xuan squirm in pain suddenly took a 'giant' step back.
