Wei knitted his brows, trying to remember. "I think Dad had faintly mentioned once about it years ago. There was a gang named She during his reign as the Mafia King."
"That long? Twenty to twenty-five years ago?"
"Yes."
Mingshen stared at him dumbfounded. "How the hell is that gang alive till now then? You saw what they are doing so how come Uncle Weizhe didn’t do anything to stop it?"
Wei blinked. "Because She wasn’t involved in such activities during his time. From what he told me, the She gang’s leader was a woman."
"Who was the woman?"
"Her identity is unknown."
"What the hell?"
"Her gang wasn’t a part of our underworld. They were a separate group. The only thing we know is that she was an assassin."
Mingshen arched his brow.
"But the right kind. They functioned similarly to how we do. Assassinate troublesome people the law did not want to dirty their hands with."
He sneered. "What else does the law know anyway? So. Then what happened?"
"Nothing much. It continued but around..." Wei was trying to get the figure right, "thirty or thirty-one years ago, She ceased its operations. We don’t know why. We simply got the news that the leader disbanded her gang. Since then, there has been no news."
"If She already ceased functioning thirty years ago, then who the hell are these people wreaking havoc? Did that leader restart her operations?"
"No. Even if she did, she was never involved with such illegal surgeries. She only assassinated people according to her deals with the law."
Mingshen leaned forward. "Did her gang also walk around with the She tattoo on their necks?"
Wei nodded. "That was their signature style."
"Now this gang also has those tattoos on their necks."
"That is indeed strange," he frowned.
"So it could also mean that somebody else from her gang suddenly thought to revive it. The tattoo is the same so the gang is the same too but with a different leader this time."
"Seems so. But I don’t think there were any chips in the tattoos all those years ago."
"New gang, new methodology," he sneered. "They think they have grown smart with times but I will dig them out even if they are in hell. Let’s see what the nano materials manufacturers have to say. Somebody is providing them with the raw materials and it can be only one of the three big companies."
Wei agreed to his logic. "I will talk to Dad and find out if he knows anything more-"

The door banged open with a loud thud with Yang Bingqing storming in with full force. "What is this am I hearing!? My future daughter-in-law is in jail!?"
Mingshen gritted his teeth.
As if little chilli wasn’t enough!
"She is still in custody-"
"Custody or jail - it’s one and the same! With such serious matter like this, Jia will never get bail!"
Wei bowed. "Hello, Aunt."
"Oh hello dear," Yang Bingqing ruffled his head causing his hair disperse in various directions.
She was quick to come back to the main topic. "Mingshen! How dare you let Jia be in jail! She is at that horrible place because she tried to protect you, so you cannot just sit around! What are you dilly-dallying for!?"
"Do you think I am not working?" He glared at her.
"Then why is she not still out of jail!?" She demanded.
"You just said it yourself that it is a serious matter so how-"
"We are the Yang family, I remind you!" Yang Bingqing looked at him coldly. "As if I cannot do a measly thing such as getting my daughter-in-law out of jail."
"I think you forgot the part where Wei’s father signed the cooperation contract," Mingshen was losing his patience. "You cannot meddle in this affair as if it’s your own private garden and I am here alive anyway so butt out."
She frowned. "Will you be even any useful?"
A vein popped on his forehead. "You think your son is useless?"
"You are definitely being slow. My poor Jia...she must be suffering so much! Is she getting proper food to eat?" Yang Bingqing sniffled. "And here you are sitting in an air-conditioned room and enjoying the cool air! What about Jia? There is no AC in jail!"
His brow twitched hard.
"Can you leave so that I can work!? As if I am not already in a murderous mood."
She completely ignored him and looked at her only hope - Wei.
"Wei, you are the only reasonable man here. Tell me if there is anything I can do to help," she wiped her eyes.
Mingshen sneered. "Sometimes I wonder if it’s Wei you gave birth to."
"How I wish!"
Wei wasn’t bothered by their arguments and plainly answered. "We are working towards that Aunt. For now we know that some gang is working in the shadows with these illegal surgeries. I will ask Dad more about She."
"She? Who is this woman?"
"She as is in the name of the gang - She. Well, it was lead by a woman many years ago but it’s back again, though I feel that somebody else is leading it."
Yang Bingqing blinked at him.
Mingshen smiled. "So now that you got your answers, please leave and let me be in peace!"
She squinted her eyes at her son. "Don’t tell me what to do or you will face the consequences."
He scoffed.
She smiled at Wei. "Well as long as you help Mingshen, I am relieved."
He nodded. Mingshen simply gave a dry look.
Yang Bingqing left, seemingly satisfied though Mingshen had his doubts. "She left too quietly. What happened to her suddenly?"

Yang Bingqing dialed a number from her memory as soon as she reached outside the lab. It was picked upon the second ring.
"...Is it seriously you calling me? I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me."
"Because there have been serious developments."
"I didn’t understand you."
"Is She still alive?"
"Huh? What are you even talking about? You disbanded the gang yourself, Boss. Why are you asking about it then after more than thirty years now?"
