The Divine Doctor And A Common Farmer Chapter 25

Fourth Brother carried the young girl to find the Village Doctor Xiao Qingyao, but Doctor Xiao was not at home.

In the cold wind, he wore a stony expression and afterward carried the little thing to the outskirts of the village.

Kaoshan Village was located halfway up the mountain, and there was a small town at the foot of the mountain, named Taihang Town.

Initially, Fourth Brother carried her in his arms, but as his arms grew sore, he started to carry her on his back.

He carried the young girl for several hours and, just as dawn was almost breaking, they finally saw the outline of the town.

"Eh, fourth brother?"

Suddenly, a soft and seductive voice sounded, and a handsome man emerged from a brothel with a lazy demeanor, yawning incessantly.

The brothel was called ’Sky Blue Building,’ which housed numerous Young Servants. And this handsome man was none other than Third Brother Liang, Liang Shujun.

Fourth brother, Liang Haoming, furrowed his brows, then turned to let Third Brother get a clear look at the face of the person on his back.

"Sick," he uttered two words through his chiseled, thin lips.

With a playful and mischievous lift of his eyebrows, Shujun teased, "Sick?" he ’ha’ed, thoroughly reveling in another’s misfortune.

"Well, well, I always thought this calamity was indestructible, but it turns out even she can’t escape the mortal constraints of birth, aging, sickness, and death, huh?

Then he tugged at his younger brother, "Alright, let it be. After all, good people don’t live long, and disasters linger for a thousand years. Our family’s eyesore is the greatest disaster among them; a minor illness or pain can’t take her life."

Liang Haoming remained silent with a wooden expression, his blank gaze fixed intently on Third Brother.

Unable to persuade his younger brother, Shujun furrowed his brows lightly and then sighed.

"Tsk, alright already, put away that deathly face of yours. Anyone who doesn’t know any better would think our family is holding a funeral. Come on, follow me. The medical shops aren’t open this early. Let’s go to my place for now, and when it gets brighter, we’ll find a doctor to take a look at her."

Liang Haoming ’hmm’ed in response, satisfied at last. He walked with steady steps, silently following behind Third Brother...

Shujun rented a courtyard in the town, which wasn’t large, comprising only two small rooms: one was the main room for sleeping, and the other was a kitchen used for cooking.

Everything in the house was in perfect order, evidently belonging to a man who favored cleanliness and tidiness.

He pushed open a door, allowing Haoming to carry the person inside, and then waited more than an hour, guessing that the town’s medical shops would have opened, before bringing back a doctor.

Dong Huiying had slept for a long time, an external injury causing a fever, and her high temperature showed no signs of abating.

Groggily opening her eyes, she knew not what time it was, feeling only dryness in her mouth and tongue.

"Ah, has Baobao awakened?"

A flirtatious and charming shallow laugh seemed to drift down from above her head, the voice carrying a hint of laziness, like that of a goblin seductress.

Because she had just woken up, her mind was somewhat confused, and her vision somewhat blurry. But did she seem to see a bewitching shadow looming over her?

She froze for a moment, then shocked, almost reflexively, she pushed the other person away.

With a "whoosh," she actually sent the goblin flying. Then with a "clunk," the goblin landed on the floor without grace.

The goblin got up, his brows furiously inverted, and it wasn’t until then that Dong Huiying’s muddled head cleared up a bit.

She looked at the other person and for a moment felt a sense of awe-struck beauty.

She saw a man with an androgynous and enchanting face, his eyes moist like glistening stars. However, his brows were raised in a provocative arch, conveying annoyance and coquettishness. Most captivating was the cinnabar mole on his forehead, bloody and bewitching.

The man appeared vibrant and full of life force, but the narrow and seductive phoenix eyes did not match the frivolousness of his exterior. Instead, they sparkled with shards of cold light.
