When he wanted to serve the young lady a bun, the Third Brother swiftly picked up a plump white bun with his chopsticks and placed it in the young lady’s bowl, all the while nagging her to eat more meat.
Later, when he wanted to add porridge to the young lady’s bowl, he saw the Fourth Brother silently take her bowl, fill it with a generous amount of porridge, and set it back down in front of her.
Glancing at the boiled eggs, he picked one up, peeled the shell, but just after finishing, he looked up to see Fifth Brother with a fierce expression. "Eat it! We’ve got too many eggs at home, they’ll go bad if we don’t eat them soon."
Yixuan slowly put down his chopsticks, looking at the green vegetable porridge in front of him that he had barely touched, then at the steamy fatty bun and the smooth peeled egg, he swallowed, and suddenly stood up.
The Second Brother Shu Yu looked at Yixuan indifferently. "Where are you going?"
Yixuan paused. "I don’t feel very well, I’d like to lie down in my room."
Alone in his room, his face was calm, but his heart was in turmoil.
It seemed he really had made a mistake.
He shouldn’t have made that request last night.
He felt a distance between them, a distance he had never felt before.
She was avoiding him as much as possible, and even though she acted naturally, he could sense her unusual behavior.
Today, she hadn’t even smiled at him.
After Yixuan left, Dong Huiying bit on her chopsticks, gradually becoming lost in thought.

Dong Huiying turned to glance at him, but remained silent.
Shujun, usually casual and devil-may-care, stopped at her reaction. Then, with a serious expression, he told her, "You still have me, don’t you? Even if he doesn’t like you, you still have me. I’ll always be by your side."
Dong Huiying suddenly raised her hand, touching his cheek briefly before her fingertips retreated.
"Why? You used to be afraid of me, afraid of my touch, but why aren’t you afraid now?"
She still remembered clearly how, when she casually tried to pat Yixuan on the shoulder, his body had suddenly stiffened.
Shujun smiled seductively, his red lips enticing. "Perhaps I’m heartless and irresponsible?"
