The Ex-Wife's Revenge: Rise of the Real Heiress. Chapter 150

Inside the Life Cell hospital, on the third floor, in room 307, where Carla was admitted and lying on the bed with her eyes closed, under the heavy dose of medication since she wouldn’t stop saying Elara was behind what happened to her, a man entered the room through the window.

He walked to the door of the room and gently locked it before turning to the girl on the bed.

His head tilted to the side as he looked at her.

With long strides, he walked to the nightstand and grabbed the patient’s file, then casually read the reports. A smirk appeared on his face when he read the last dose of medication given to Carla.

He closed the file and threw it beside Carla’s head with a thud.

The sound made Carla’s eyes flutter. She opened her eyes slightly, barely able to focus on who was standing before her.

The medication made her vision blurry, but one thing was for sure. She didn’t know this man and had never seen someone like him before.

The way the man was wearing a mask made it clear he was here for nothing good.

With furrowed brows, she lifted her hand and tried to press the emergency button that was placed on the left side of her bed.

However, as if the man knew exactly what she was going after, he grabbed her hand before pulling her halfway. He tore her gown before scoffing at her ugly self, making her self-conscious.

Then he let go of her hand and removed the IV from her hand with a jerk, making her want to scream in pain, but his hand on her mouth stopped her from doing anything.

He pulled out his handkerchief and then stuffed it in her mouth.

Carla was about to throw it when he pulled out his gun and pointed it at her.

Carla’s eyes widened as she looked at the man in utter surprise.

"Who asked you to hurt Elara? Now you shall pay the price," the man said.

Carla shook her head in denial, the action making her head dizzy because of the medication.

"Too late," the man said before he pulled the trigger, and Carla closed her eyes in fear.

However, the pain she expected never came. Even the gag was not in her mouth anymore.

She opened her eyes and looked around frantically.

"Help! Help! Brother!" She screamed at the top of her lungs, and Lloyd’s family guards, who were standing outside, rushed inside, shocked by the state of the room, before averting their gazes.

Andrew, who had gone out to eat and returned, rushed to the room when he heard his sister’s screams.

He looked at the diabolical scene before him and swallowed hard.

He noticed the doctors walking to Carla’s side as she flailed her hands around restlessly.

"Brother! It was her again. Elara sent men to torment me. Look what he did." Carla pushed the doctor away, wanting to catch her brother’s attention.

Andrew didn’t move from his position and looked at the men who were guarding the room.

"We entered when we heard her screaming, sir. She was the only one in the room. The window was closed too," the guards said.

Andrew’s gaze darkened when he heard their description, and he walked to the window. It was indeed closed from the inside.

Even if someone came here from the window, how did he manage to lock it from inside again? It was simply impossible.

It meant only one thing: Carla was orchestrating all this drama to frame Elara.

He saw Carla losing her patience, screaming at the doctors, and finally realized how intense her hatred for Elara was. If she was doing so much before him, how much she must’ve tormented Elara when he wasn’t looking? And to say Elara never let him sense it because she never complained.

The more he looked at Carla acting rashly, with her blood dropping everywhere because of the removed IV, the angrier he became, and he walked to her.

"There is no one here. No one came to harm you. You were under such a heavy dose. Do you even remember anything properly? If yes, describe him to me," Andrew said.

Carla opened her mouth, then closed it, looking like a fish out of the water.

"He was wearing a mask. He had a small nose and—" Carla started, trying her best, but Andrew’s mocking smile stopped her.

"You just said he was wearing a mask, and then he had a small nose?" Andrew shook his head before he ordered the doctors to give her an injection that would help her calm down and fall asleep.

Carla’s eyes widened, and she shook her head in denial.

"No! Brother! You have to listen to me! There was someone. He removed this IV from my hand. He gagged me, and I couldn’t scream earlier, but then he pointed his gun at me, and... what are you doing?!" Carla screamed, struggling hard to get out of the grip of the ward boy who was holding her still so the doctor could inject her with the medicine.

At the same time, the man who had entered the bathroom rather than exiting through the window used this opportunity to walk out, wearing a doctor’s coat so no one would suspect him.

"Doctor, how is my daughter?" Sophia stopped him and couldn’t help but take a deep breath.

"Mentally unstable," He said before he excused himself and left the corridor.

Sophia staggered backwards when she heard the doctor’s words, then rushed to the room and saw another doctor administering to it.

"Andrew, what is going on? Is my daughter really becoming mentally unstable?" Sophia asked.

Andrew pursed his lips into a thin line, unsure what to answer.

The man who orchestrated everything walked out of the hospital, straight to the parking lot, before discarding the coat in the dustbin.

"Did you have a lot of fun?" Alen asked his boss, who was still busy chatting to his online friend.

Daniel, whose gaze was still dark, didn’t say anything for some time.

"I am still mad that the one saving my wife was that bastard Andrew and not me," Daniel said after a drawn-out pause when Alen started the car.

Alen looked at his boss through the rearview mirror before shaking his head.

"Why don’t you ask her family for permission to marry then? What are you waiting for?" Alen asked.

Daniel looked out of the window at his secretary’s words.

What was he waiting for? Well, for starters, the day Elara would tell Logan everything so that things would become a bit easier.

But he guessed that Alen was indeed correct. He had to make his move now.
