The Extra’s Survival: Logging into the Game Master System! Chapter 167

How do you change an ingrained Ideology?

The best example would be either of fanatics who would kill for their beliefs, or rule-abiding OCD ones that would follow the same rule even if it is the end of the world.

While the latter is a mental disease and needs progressive treatment as such in curing that disease, the former one isn't that simple. It's something more akin to an ingrained theory, a firm stone line that was carved deep into their subconcious enough to leave a scar that could haunt them forever.

It is more dangerous than a normal disease, because it cannot be explained by normal conditions, nor can it be corrected by a therapy. And most of the time, the people themselves aren't aware of the fact that such a belief, on which their entire life was based, could be wrong.

So once again, let me ask you this.

How do you change such a belief? To change a person, to save them from an ending that they were relentlessly trying to achieve, even if it means that it will destroy them? To make them understand that what they are doing is wrong?

How do you change an ingrained Ideology?

And the answer is simple.

You break… no, you shatter the foundation on which it was built upon.

"Why are you protecting it?" Kite asked as she looked into my eyes. My sword was still at her throat, her eyes focused on my face, failing to understand my intentions.

"Elliot? She seemed interesting. Lonely. It seemed fun to save her, change her life 180 degrees," I spoke the truth. While I, myself, am a humble person, my intentions this time were just out of boredom. I thought that I should protect the kids, so I did. I wanted to take them shopping, so I did.

There wasn't any deeper meaning to it, and nor was I going to indulge too much into it.

"It is a monster that is going to destroy the world," she spoke with genuine hatred. Her eyes seemingly believing every words that she was speaking, and with a slight bored expression as I spoke,

"This world is already as good as dead. You people aren't strong enough to protect yourself from the disaster, much less this world. Measly things like Vampires, Ghouls and humans should be the last things that you should concern yourself with."

Her eyes shook as she failed to understand my words while I continued to elaborate myself,

"You have faced me right now. I haven't even used even a percent of my powers. Since you are probably the strongest human of this world, let me ask you this, do you think I can destroy the entire humanity, if I want to?"

I saw her voice breaking, as she recalled the battle we just had. And then I sensed quite a bit of danger around me, as if countless beings were ready to target me anytime, attacking me with all their might. But then again… they were weak.

"Let's change the humans with ghouls. Don't you think I can erase most of the ghouls from this planet by myself? I have ways to locate them. Power to kill them with a single slice. I can create weapons that can harm them with a touch, burn them even if they look at it. Or even vampires? You probably already know what I am capable of," I spoke as a matter of factly, about things that I can do.

It wasn't arrogance. It was a pure fact. I know my capabilities, my strength and my limits.

"You are arrogant," she spoke. But I gave out a pressed smile before answering,

"Not really. I have fought a God before. And I have seen beings that can destroy the worlds with a single click of their fingers. I have met Gods that had their worlds almost destroyed and a God that wanted to destroy his own world. Trust me… something …"

I clicked my finger creating an illusion of a meteor in the air. Since my [Illusion] skill was high enough, it was nearly impossible for anyone to figure it out. And hence, that meteor surely would have looked like a real thing.

And thus, I saw Kite's eyes widening. She looked at the meteor above, and the intense heat that it produced. It was wide enough to take the city… not perhaps even the surrounding forest with it. And then destroy a wide area, probably a portion of their world with ease.

"… is as easy as taking a sip of tea for me, you know?" I spoke as I erased the illusion and then began drinking the rest of the drink.

A silence covered the entire area for a few moments before Kite managed a bit of her will.

"Who… are you?" She asked as she was finally seemingly more stable than before. And since she was kind of ready to hear me out, I spoke out the same words as before,

"You can take me as a messenger from another world. I am not a God though, just a traveller with a lot of strange powers. As for my personal goal here, is to observe this world's end. It's scary I know but… if you want, I can guide you how to survive just like I promised Sebastian. Hmmm… but please… don't do anything rash. I would rather not have any unnecessary trouble."

The first words were filled with genuine kindness, and the last ones were pure warning. While there were only a few days left before the tutorial of this world started, I still wanted to enjoy and relax as much as I could.

Kite looked at me with a perplexed expression before I stretched and then spoke," whether you fear me or not. Take me as an entity to be destroyed, or one that to be prayed to. In the end, it's all upon you. I won't interfere with your thoughts, and will surely return the feelings as you want me to perceive them."

Her body shook as she heard my words. And then with the same smile as before, I spoke,

"But then again. Wouldn't it be better for you to just observe me for the time being?"

It was a warning. Not only just to her, but to everyone else that was listening to our conversations.

'Well. Hopefully, they won't disturb me anymore after this,' I hoped as I really wanted to enjoy this little time I had here. But then again, I should have just kept myself hidden… sigh… I guess I should have been less impulsive? Next time… Probably…
