Upon hearing the ghostly figure’s words, the players present were noticeably taken aback.
Previously, capturing was the goal, but now it demanded killing?!
Don’t be fooled by their earlier thoughts of leaving Scarlett Jennings behind; deep down, they knew she couldn’t stand against this specter.
As long as they weren’t the ones to do it, they could always find excuses in their hearts, claiming they weren’t responsible for her death.
But now, this apparition was clearly stating to kill...
"No way! Don’t joke around! We can’t kill anyone! You... you better let us out!"
How could they possibly kill anyone? They were lawful citizens!
"Exactly! Who’s going to listen to your nonsense? Just let us go!"
Lucas Jennings couldn’t help but shout at the ghostly figure,
"Kill your sister! What do you think you are?! If you dare even touch a hair on my sister’s head, my family, my brother-in-law will never let you off!!"
In what was undoubtedly a tense and frantic moment, a small part of the young crowd was oddly drawn in by Lucas’s words, their curiosity piqued.
Huh? Brother-in-law??
Do they... have a brother-in-law now?
The ghostly figure was clearly uninterested in such thoughts, seeing the players displaying righteousness without a word, simply waving a hand abruptly.
Suddenly, the player whose neck was bound by the black aura struggled violently, as everyone watched the black aura around his neck tighten rapidly.
The specter intended to take his life immediately!
"Banishing misfortune, unscathed by water and fire, with a Spirit Talisman, evil spirits disperse!"
Accompanied by Gregory Xander’s command, a Spirit Talisman swiftly flew toward the black aura around the trapped player’s neck, dispersing most of it.
In the moment everyone was captivated by the Spirit Talisman, a woman’s voice rang out again, her clear tone filled with sharpness,
"Thunder resounds, earth groans, above are six armored warriors, below are six courtiers, with the supreme mandate, the thunderbolt is fixed..."
A Thunder Talisman accompanied by golden light shot toward the specter’s direction.
With a command, Heavenly Thunder flashed out of nowhere within the Ghost Realm and then struck down at the shadow.
The specter was caught off guard and was hit by the Purple Thunder.
Gathered from Ferocious Fiend’s aura, the ghostly figure was instantly dispersed, everyone looked in astonishment at this unexpected move, their eyes filled with delight.
Only Lucas Jennings remained unperturbed.
As far as his sister’s Thunder Talisman was concerned, he knew from the first incantation.
It’s all standard procedure~
Everyone was thrilled, thinking the specter was gone; surely they could escape now. Yet, in the next moment, that nightmarish voice echoed again from the void.
"Purple Thunder is strong, but it can’t kill me!"
"To leave the Ghost Realm, there’s only one way: kill Scarlett Jennings."
"If she doesn’t die, all of you must stay behind."
After the voice finished, it vanished once more into the void of the Ghost Realm.
As it had said, everything in this Ghost Realm was under its control.
Despair instantly showed in everyone’s expressions.
Scarlett Jennings and these Mystical Sect members couldn’t handle that ghostly figure; how else could they leave here?
The player who was narrowly rescued was now coughing frantically, clutching his throat, his face full of terror,
"I cough... I don’t want to die here... I don’t want to die here! I want to leave... Kill Scarlett Jennings, and we can get out."
"You dare!" Lucas Jennings shouted angrily, his youthful face full of malice as he glared at the person.
"I almost died just now! It’s her lack of capability! If she can’t save us all, then let’s use her life to exchange for ours!"
That person said while rallying nearby players to his side,
"You all saw just now! These Mystical Sect people are completely unreliable; we can only rely on ourselves!"

However, before she could act, several people beside Scarlett Jennings unsurprisingly stood in front of her, facing the players, their expressions cold but meaningfully protective.
Scarlett Jennings was stunned, gazing at the line of backs before her: Gregory Xander, Evander Simpson, Victor Quintero, Daniel Wright, Alicia Sharp, Lucas Jennings, and his little companions.
They stood resolutely in front, ready to confront everyone opposite them.
During the standoff, a few scattered players from the other side joined Lucas Jennings’s group.
Don’t ask; the answer is they won’t do something so conscience-less.
Seeing those safeguarding Scarlett Jennings multiply, the opposing players attempted to sway others to their side.
"Don’t be foolish! What’s the point of morality at a time !"
"This is the Ghost Realm; even if we kill her, no one will find out."
Just as he finished speaking, a male voice from Scarlett Jennings’s side sounded stern and imposing,
Suddenly, Daniel Wright stepped forward, pulling out his identification,
"Sea City’s police will know!"
As he spoke, two others beside him produced their badges; they were undercover officers on this investigation.
Watching the players opposite him visibly waver, Daniel Wright took a deep breath and said solemnly,
"Whether we are police or Scarlett Jennings and these Mystical Sect people, we’ve always been striving to save everyone...
But I don’t want those we’re risking our lives to save to be a bunch of scumbags."
Perhaps touched by Daniel Wright’s words or intimidated by his police identity, more players made their way over, soon standing more than half in front of Scarlett Jennings.
Such a scene even Scarlett Jennings herself hadn’t anticipated.
For the first time, she stood before many who wanted to protect her.
The hand holding the Peach Wood Sword trembled slightly; after a long pause, it was firmly tightened again.
Across, Ava Zimmerman stared blankly at the scene, confusion and incomprehension clouding her eyes, with even unperceived...envy.
It wasn’t supposed to be this way.
Scarlett should be just like her.
