Jiang Feishun clutched his stomach in pain, unable to move his body, as sweat beads the size of peas formed on his forehead. Hearing this, he looked up at Nan Yu standing above him.
Her previously beautiful face now resembled a venomous, deadly scorpion.
He gritted his teeth and said, "The documents aren’t with me."
Nan Yu found a rope in the room, tied him up, dragged a chair over, and sat in front of him, speaking as if she were interrogating a prisoner.
"Where are the documents?"
Jiang Feishun struggled against the ropes, but found them tightening the more he writhed. He curled up and said indignantly, "I don’t know."
Nan Yu raised an eyebrow, slowly stood up, and walked toward the kitchen.
Seeing her movement, Jiang Feishun looked puzzled. Before he could figure it out, he saw Nan Yu, smiling, carrying a kitchen knife back with her.
"Lawyer Jiang, one should consider the consequences before speaking. I’ll give you one more chance, where are the documents?"
Jiang Feishun saw the sharp kitchen knife less than 30cm from him and met Nan Yu’s gaze, which was as cold as if she were looking at a dead thing. It was as if she would kill him without hesitation the next moment.
In an instant, a strong sense of death enveloped him, and his fear reached its peak.
Jiang Feishun dared not hide it any longer and blurted everything out.
"The documents were requested by a distant cousin, who gave me a hundred thousand to steal them. After I stole them, I handed them over to him."
Nan Yu’s face remained stern, "What’s your cousin’s name?"
Jiang Feishun shrank back, "His name is Nan Luzhi!"
Hearing this name, a trace of confusion flickered through Nan Yu’s eyes. She narrowed her sharp eyes, "Are you sure?"
Fear was evident on Jiang Feishun’s face as he nodded frantically, "Everything I’ve told you is true. If there’s any lie, may I die a terrible death!"
Nan Yu threw the kitchen knife back onto the table, then grabbed the drugged cup of tea from the table and forced it down Jiang Feishun’s throat.
"Lawyer Jiang, thank you for telling me so much today; now I won’t disturb your rest."
With that, she left the place.
Once she left, Jiang Feishun struggled to get up and with difficulty cut the ropes with the knife.
He immediately ran to the bathroom and violently induced vomiting.
After he finally managed to vomit the tea, he looked disheveled and utterly humiliated, nothing like a sharp lawyer.
Jiang Feishun stormed out furiously, smashing everything he could find in the house, constantly cursing that woman.
Soon, the room was a complete mess.
Suddenly, a dossier caught his eye.
The dossier contained a photograph of the woman who had just assaulted him.
Jiang Feishun grabbed the photo, closely examining the information, his eyes burning with fury.
"Nan Yu, it was you. Just wait, I’ll make sure you end up behind bars!"
After leaving Jiang Feishun’s house, Nan Yu immediately got into a car and headed straight for the Nan Family.
Meanwhile, at the Nan Family estate.
Li Xue held Nan Zhuoyuan’s hand and appeared promptly at the Nan Family’s home.
Upon seeing them, Nan Qingqing immediately called out politely, "Big brother, sister-in-law."
Standing behind her, Nan Luzhi flashed a sly smile.
"Young Master Nan, Young Madam, please come inside and have a seat."
"Hmm," Nan Zhuoyuan replied sharply, impassively pulling Li Xue into the house.
No sooner had they sat down than Li Xue, looking around and not seeing Sheng Ruomei and Nan Yu, asked softly, "Qingqing, where are your foster mother and foster sister?"
Nan Qingqing replied sweetly, "My foster mother is on her way back and will be here soon. As for my foster sister..."
"She was injured and is in the hospital. Ruomei went to take care of her, which is why she’s not at home," Nan Luzhi quickly interjected.
Li Xue expressed surprise, "What kind of injury? Is it serious?"
Nan Luzhi glanced at Nan Zhuoyuan drinking tea indifferently, clearly uninterested in the conversation.
