Jian sat down at the dinner table with a huge grin. He was completely alone now.
Since Bian collapsed from his accusation, he had been hospitalized and his grandmother followed after him staying there for the night.
He was all alone in this small ass house.
'Hmm weird. now that I'm all alone I'm kind of bored.' Giggling, he laid down on the warm ground. The only part of the house that has heating is the dining room and Bian's room. This small dining table has an under-table heater that could heat the legs.
His grandmother slept here every day while he had to sleep in a cold closet.
'I should just steal this spot... why do I have to sleep in the cold bed every day.' He rolled his eyes.
Suddenly, there was a sound of footsteps out of his house.
He froze up.
it was dark and snowy outside. no one would go out or visit someone's home in this temperature.
'Who is this... is it that guy's friends seeking revenge...' he frowned deeply. it was highly likely that Nansich would seek revenge and would attack him.
He quickly ran to the kitchen and took a kitchen knife with him and opened the door slowly.
Outside, his grandpa stood rubbing his cold hands together.
"Grandpa?!" Jian quickly hid the knife behind him and opened the door fully. "Come in quickly! it's so cold outside," he held his grampa and removed his slightly wet outer coat. "Where were you last night? you didn't come home. Do you know how worried I was?"
He even thought of stealing the old lady's phone to give him a call.
His grandma smiled cheerfully. "I changed my workplace. but the match factory said that there was no one to replace me so I kind of stayed there to do both my shifts."
Jian frowned. The old man was too old. it was not appropriate for him to work for so long.
"don't worry the new place assigned me a small room. It's so warm in there," the man said in a cheerful tone.
Jian paused. Just like him, the old man was also mistreated in this house. He was always ignored and uncared for. His room also did not have any heating making his old wounds flair up every night. He could only massage his aching stiff legs with the oils and sleep fitfully.
He gently held his bony hands. "don't overwork. You don't have to fully take on the burden of the family. I'm working now. I can help out here and there," he made him sit down close to the dining table and adjusted the blanket around his legs.
"Jian is working now? Wow, my little kids have grown up so much," the old man gently touched the top of his head.
Jian smiled. "Hmm..." he sat down next to him and served him a cup of hot tea.
"where's Bian?" the old man looked around. "He didn't come home with you?"
Jian's movement faltered slightly. "He was not feeling well at school so he is staying at the hospital,"
"Hospital! Is it that bad!" the man tried to stand up.
But Jian helped him sit down again. "it's not bad. He has less iron so he fainted."
"Oh..." the old man massaged his brows.
Jian gazed at his face, contemplating whether to tell the truth or not. Bian collapsed because of him... because the boy tried to accuse him of things he did not do and got caught.
He could have very well tainted Bian's reputation with his grandfather, but he did not want to.
He did not want the man to worry anymore.
Jian gently massaged his shoulders. "Please change your shift to the old one."
"Who will take care of you when I'm not here..." the old man gently touched his head again. "My Jian is getting mistreated every day. If I'm close, your grandmother will not go beyond measures."
Jian sat down with a pout. "If push comes to pull, will you stay with grandma or with me?"
The old man raised a brow. "That won't happen."
"If it happens..., will you come with me, Grandpa?"
Grandpa seemed to contemplate it. his mouth opened and closed as he hesitated to answer. "Ah it won't happen anyways. What is the use of thinking about it?"
"Why won't you leave grandma? She is such a rude person and she bullies you so much."
The old man suddenly chuckled. "Who can leave their wife."
Jian pouted. 'Looks like I need to start to convince this man to leave her... how am I going to do that...'
He was still unsure of the social ways of manipulation like Bian. He had a lot of things to learn.
