An array of blue and white flowers lined in front of the huge hallways. The stairwells were decorated with lilac and roses emitting wonderful fragrances.
It was the day of the wedding and everyone was busy running around preparing for the ceremony.
In the side villa, Xing Yu got dressed up in human clothes and gazed at himself in the mirror. The white shirt was fitting to his form and the black trousers fit his height correctly. But the coat was slightly tight on his biceps.
He frowned slightly.
"Wow, you look awful happy to get married." The second prince, Dican whispered with sarcasm oozing out.
Xing glared at the orb. "it's just a customary marriage anyway. The real one is back home." He said coldly.
Somehow it all felt too rushed.
When he went to ask permission for marriage that stupid human surprisingly agreed to it. but the one condition he put forth is for their marriage to be held on earth in three days.
it was decided too soon. His family would not be able to cross the nebula to reach them and as for Bian's biological family, they would not be able to make it as well.
"Stop frowning. You look like a dried carrot."
Xing Yu rolled his eyes and peered at his own reflection. The jedi on his forehead was slightly glowing blue. It was a sign that his destined one was close. But weirdly so he felt a crushing feeling of sadness and pain from within.
He did not know how to explain it.
It was like his destined one is in pain.
he had even talked to Bian about it but he seemed awfully cheerful.
'Then why do I feel this way...' he patted his chest.
"Xing, are you really okay? You don't look that happy." Dican peered at him with a slight frown. "My friend if you don't feel confident about this marriage you can back out any time. You don't have to marry my brother."
"He is my destined one... why wouldn't I want to marry him," Xing mumbled softly.
"Really? Then why do you look like you swallowed a sour plum?"
"I don't know..." Xing Yu plopped on the sofa. "It feels weird inside. It's this feeling of loss... and despair. I can't explain it." he massaged his aching brows.
These past three days he was not able to sleep. The excitement of finding his destined one disappeared instantly leaving behind that aching hole.
"Would you be angry if I back away from this marriage? he is your brother after all."
Dican weirdly was not offended by this. he took a good look at his friend and sighed. Like xing he too had reservations about this wedding. It was too rushed and... his precious younger brother who he had never even met was already being handed over to someone else. It was slightly unnerving.
"Do as you wish. I only assigned the mission on finding him and bring him back. if you don't want to marry him it's okay." He said softly.
Xing Yu smiled and nodded. "Maybe it's the marriage blues. I would get better in the alter. I'm sure of it'.'
"Oh, thank God I thought I needed to tell my parents the news. You know how marriage crazy my mum is." Dican said with an exhausted eye roll. "Anyway, let's talk about other things. I tried to contact your parents but they are honeymooning across the galaxy and I was not able to get their signal. But the Jedi signal is safe and sound. As for my family..." he smirked, "my elder brother has gone into hiding."
"Again?" Xing Yu playfully smiled at him.
"Yes, he is terrified of his fiancé. And my mum has been forcing him to get married and have an heir. Guess that guy got cold feet. He ran away. No word from him till now. But the good news is my father will attend your wedding. Virtually of course."
Xing got up and adjusted his coat. "Then I need to be presentable for the Highness, the emperor."
Dican scoffed. "Ohh look over there..." he pointed to the door behind him. "Looks like your little bride came looking for you."
Bian who was eavesdropping on the conversation trembled. He slightly opened the door and poked his head in. "hey."
"How long were you there?" Xing Yu said with an awkward smile.
"I just came. Why did I miss anything?" he shyly smiled up at him.
"no. just talking with your brother. Good news, your father will be attending our wedding." the alien general said with a cold look on his face. they said man did not even look at him after that.
"oh, that's nice," Bian hid his clenched fist in his pocket. He had done everything. 'He is reluctant to marry me? Why! why is it so? Because I'm not Jian! Is that plot trying to rectify itself!! Fuck...' he distractedly gazed at the ground.
Dican who was watching this slightly tilted his head. "Bian,"
"Ah yes." Bian distractedly looked at him.
"How are you, little brother? How is my dear friend treating you?"
"He is taking good care of me." Bian smiled softly.
"Good good. have you prepared for the wedding?"
"I still have a fitting left..."
"Ohh don't let us delay you. Get those clothes fixed." Dican smiled and sent him away.
Right after the door was closed, he gazed at his friend. Xing seemed slightly distracted. "I did a background check on my brother. Turns out he was left by my mother in a small human family. Bian grew up with a brother and was not treated that well by him. Thankfully mister wang adopted him from destitution."
"oh," Xing Yu was already deep in thought that he only heard a vague chatter of his friend. 'Why do I feel so sad... I'm supposed to be happy when in close to him. But why do I feel so crushed... in pain...'
and there was also the bloody stench on Bian's body.
He did not know why but it gave him a sense of dread.
