“There’s only one family with the surname Guan in our village.” Yang Sanni, who had been sound asleep, suddenly sat up and shot Yang Ruxin an annoyed glance.
“It’s your Brother Qingshu’s mother.”
A vein in Yang Ruxin’s forehead throbbed.
This girl’s words were sharp as thorns, and she immediately got out of bed and left the room.
“It seems to be Auntie from the Guan Family.” Yang Erni, however, had awoken, hurriedly sitting up.
Though still groggy, her gaze toward Yang Ruxin was somewhat strange.
“The Guan Family?” Yang Ruxin frowned.
“Which Guan Family?” She was puzzled for a moment.
She saw a tall, thin woman standing in the courtyard, her head wrapped in a blue scarf, with a bamboo basket hooked on the bend of her arm.
“Oh, Dani, you’re alright?” As soon as Guan Tongshi saw Yang Dani coming out, a flash of disgust crossed her eyes, but she still put on a smile.
“That’s wonderful.”
“Auntie, do you need something?” Yang Ruxin mustered a smile, unwilling to exchange insincere pleasantries with the other party.
“I heard you took a fall,” Guan Tongshi said with a smile.
“Though it wasn’t my Qingshu who pushed you, he still feels guilty for being there at the time.
That child is so kind-hearted that he can’t even eat.”
Sarcasm flickered in Yang Ruxin’s eyes, but she put on a smile.
“Just speak your mind, Auntie.
Even Doctor Li said I have a strong will to live.”
“My Qingshu mentioned that you fell while helping him with wheat straw, and it’s been weighing on his mind.
That’s why I came to see how you are,” Guan Tongshi spoke as she handed over the bamboo basket.
“Here are ten eggs as compensation…

Yang Ruxin’s brows furrowed, but she quickly smiled and reached out to take the basket.

Rest assured, even without the eggs, I’ll steer clear of Guan Qingshu from now on…

Yang Ruxin then turned and called Yang Sanni, who had been eavesdropping by the door, over.
“Put the eggs away, and take the basket out to Auntie.” However, inwardly, she sneered.

“Alright.” Sanni ran over excitedly to take the basket, wide awake now despite having just struggled to rise.
“Has Qingshu’s mom come?” Just then, the door to the main house swung open, and Yang Anshi came out.
