When everyone arrived at the shop, Liang Zi and Old Man Qian were already there. Old Man Qian’s legs had improved a lot, and now he could move around freely with a cane, so with Qian Er busy in the county town, the old man volunteered to come and watch the store.
Yang Ruxin was of course very willing to have Old Man Qian’s company, as there was a room behind the shop. He was alone at home, so moving in not only allowed him to look after the shop but also made it convenient for everyone to care for him, and Qian Er would be able to see his father when he returned.
The old man was also very diligent, although he walked with a cane, he had been tidying up the shop every day since his arrival.

There wasn’t much of a ceremony for the opening day, just having Liang Zi buy a string of firecrackers to set off, then removing the red cloth covering the plaque to reveal the "Thriving Snack Shop" in big, red letters.
Additionally, there were two signs at the door. One was written, listing the prices of items in the shop for those who could read, and the other was illustrated, with prices represented by the number of copper coins drawn beside the items, meant for those who couldn’t read.
There was also a separate banner proclaiming that on the opening day, the tenth of October, everyone who came to the shop would get a buy-one-get-one-free deal. Whatever they bought, they would receive another one for free. Those with flyers would also get a small cake as an extra gift. The second day would have a 40% discount, the third day a 20% discount, and by the fourth day, the prices would return to normal.
Because the pancake fruit had already been tasted by many before and had a foundation among some of the townspeople, soon after the firecrackers were set off, people began entering the shop, "Ah, it’s been several days since I’ve had this, glad it’s finally open." These were the very people who used to frequent the shop at the dock.
Before Yang Ruxin could step forward, Sanni approached them professionally, welcoming the guests, and even introduced the option to pre-order for the next day. As long as a deposit was paid, the order would be delivered at the specified time.
The customers nodded their heads repeatedly, each buying pancake fruits or meat-filled buns, then began devouring them. However, everyone stopped after eating an extra one and, feeling full, drank several large bowls of soup before leaving with their free items, enough to tide them over for lunch.
Sanni then invited them to come to the shop if they were free to drink some hot soup, on the house.
