The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective Chapter 127

Li Jian and Wan finished their first interrogation of Song Can.

Standing outside the interrogation room, Wan said, "This interrogation didn’t make any significant progress and only made things more confusing."

Li Jian stood in the hallway, smoking quietly for a moment.

"Although the two are accusing each other, it’s not entirely a bad thing."

"At the very least, the clues in front of us are abundant now."

Then, he asked, "Have Jiang An and Zhang Yean gone back?"

Wan replied, "I just heard they’re at the forensic laboratory."

"Let’s go! Let’s see if they have any clues there."

Five minutes later, the two of them reached the second floor of the criminal investigation unit.

Only the forensic lab’s door was open.

As soon as they reached the door, Li Jian said, "Still busy?"

Jiang An and Zhang Yean stood up and greeted him.

"We’re looking at today’s autopsy photos."

Wan walked over and saw a photo of a man’s lower body on the table.

"At this late hour, you two are focused on this area; quite the heavy taste."

"Senior, your thoughts are unhealthy; this is meticulous research spirit."

"We are examining the deceased’s genital disease."

Hearing this, Li Jian suddenly asked, "What? Any new discoveries?"

Jiang An replied, "I found that the deceased, Liu Jun, was once infected with a venereal disease."

Recalling Liu Jun’s autopsy, Wan instantly raised his hands and looked at them repeatedly.

After a brief moment of panic, he said, "Luckily, I washed my hands after leaving the dissection room."

"Otherwise, getting infected with a venereal disease there would not only tarnish my purity but also be a silent suffering with no outlet."

Jiang An’s mouth twitched as he said, "Don’t worry, this disease spreads through very particular means; regular contact won’t transmit it."

Then, Li Jian thought for a moment and said, "Does this disease have any special significance?"

Jiang An said, "For now, I haven’t figured it out, but I feel it could serve as a lead to push the investigation forward."

Li Jian listened and pondered slightly.

Zhang Yean then asked, "Mr. Li, how’s it going with the interrogation?"

Li Jian looked serious and just shook his head slightly.

Standing beside him, Wan smiled and said, "Don’t mention it; that kid says he didn’t commit murder."

"Moreover, he even accused someone else of murder."

Zhang Yean widened her eyes and asked, "Such a twist?" Googlᴇ search novèlfire.net

"The first to suggest Song Can was a suspect was Chen Feng."

"But just now, Song Can said Chen Feng was suspicious."

Zhang Yean asked further.

"The reason is that during the initial stage of the project, Chen Feng and his wife came to work on the site."

"At that time, Liu Jun had pursued Chen Feng’s wife, and Chen Feng eventually sent her back to their hometown."

Upon hearing this, Zhang Yean looked incredulous.

"Feels like a plot from a Korean drama."

Wan commented sarcastically, "Song Can’s demeanor in the interrogation room is more wronged than Dou E."

Li Jian sat down and said, "The current situation is indeed a bit complex."

He grimaced, "We used to worry about not finding a suspect."

"Now, even after finding a suspect, we are still worried."

Just as Li Jian finished speaking, he asked, "Mr. Li, where are Song Can and Chen Feng originally located?"

"One’s in Anyang District, the other’s in Hecang County."

Jiang An suddenly posed this question, making Li Jian a bit curious, "Why ask that suddenly?"

"Mr. Li, while inspecting the scene, we discovered the path the suspect took to enter Building 5."

"On that path, we found traces of red brick clay."

Li Jian asked, "Where did they enter from?"

Jiang An turned around, moved the mouse, and opened the on-site photos.

The photo of a windowsill stained with red clay appeared on the computer screen.

Li Jian examined it closely and asked, "Can you confirm it’s left by the suspect?"

"Although I can’t be 100% sure, I’m at least 90% confident."

Li Jian fixed his gaze on Jiang An, eager for Jiang An’s subsequent answer.

Jiang An pointed to the computer screen and said, "First, there hasn’t been any theft in Building 5 that could be attributed to a thief."

"Second, compared to the surrounding two windowsills, this one is higher, with no sand or bricks as support by the window; if other workers were to take a shortcut into Building 5, this windowsill wouldn’t be their best option."

"Third, there is a surveillance camera at the entrance unit of Building 5. Entering from here could completely avoid being recorded by the camera."

After hearing, Li Jian leaned closer to the computer screen for a better look.

"These red clay marks really match those left when climbing windowsills."

"However, red clay is quite rare."

"I remember not seeing such soil at the construction site."

Jiang An nodded and responded, "Mr. Li, my senior and I went to the environmental bureau this afternoon and found this red clay distributed in the southern suburbs of Jiangcheng."

Hearing this, Li Jian’s eyes showed a bit of surprise.

His eyes flitted between Jiang An and Zhang Yean.

He hadn’t expected them to have already resolved this issue.

Li Jian smiled and said, "Well done."

Subsequently, Jiang An said, "Mr. Li, so I infer that the suspect must have been to the southern suburbs of Jiangcheng."

"Song Can and Chen Feng aren’t from the southern suburb area."

Li Jian’s eyes sharpened, and he stated solemnly, "Nevertheless, it cannot be ruled out that they may have been there."

At this moment, Wan walked over to chime in.
