Their eyes were fixed ahead.
Not far away, the river could be clearly seen.
And across the river, the city at the edge of the horizon.
This area had the most stationed troops because most of the bridges across the river in front had nearly been completely destroyed.
The section of the river they faced was the shallowest, allowing them to slowly wade across on horseback.

A Blood Race Knight on horseback asked.
"What?" The soldier beside him seemed confused.

He kept feeling that he heard some sort of vibrating footsteps, somewhat chaotic, somewhat dense.
Following the sound, he turned his head to look behind.
His pupils widened, and the stiff expression on his face slipped out of control.
The voice suddenly rang out.
Everyone was startled by the sound, then almost instinctively turned toward the opposite riverbank.
However, there was nothing on the opposite riverbank.
"Look behind you, you fools!" The Knight shouted.
All the soldiers turned to look behind.
Then they saw the Night Watchers charging in on Land Birds.
The Blood Race finally reacted, raising their weapons to attack Kana and his people emerging from behind.
"Damn it, why are there enemies behind us! Those fools! Incompetents!" The Knight cursed.
They had never expected enemies to appear directly behind them.
And looking at the enemy troops, it was by no means a small force.
The two sides instantly clashed.
Then the Knight realized something was wrong.
The enemy was too strong.
With a single encounter, the Blood Race suffered heavy casualties.
The soldiers who had been observing also noticed something amiss and quickly reported the information to the commander.
The commander responsible immediately came to the front line.
He said to the person next to him, "See what’s happening."

"The Blood Race seems to be fighting someone else, the other side looks different from the Blood Race."

Just as he wanted to ask about the current situation, the person beside him exclaimed.
"Incredible, the opponents are very powerful, these Blood Race are no match, being slaughtered one-sidedly."
"Huh?" The commander was a bit surprised.
Although everything seemed peaceful now, they had been in a standoff here for half a year, and both sides had skirmished at least a few times, they never considered the Blood Race to be weaklings.
Not to mention those numerous, agile Ghouls with poisonous claws.
The average stats of ordinary Blood Race soldiers were higher than that of his soldiers. The officers and those who could use powers akin to Magic could suppress them.
If not for the constant reinforcement to their rear and maintaining their strategic advantage, their forces would have already been wiped out.
Yet now he was being told someone was slaughtering those Blood Race.
"What happened?" The commander quickly asked.
"That Blood Race Knight, the one who killed dozens of our people, was taken down by the enemy in one strike."

After all, this was a battlefield where both sides were in a standoff, and at the slightest misstep, allies could become enemies.
Raising their hands high to show they were not a threat, they began to wade across the river on their Land Birds.
Even the commander could clearly see it now.
He silently raised his hands, signaling the surrounding soldiers to temporarily lower their guard.
"Do you recognize them?"
The people beside him shook their heads, not having seen the other side before, but at least knowing they’re not Blood Race.
The appearance of the Blood Race was too recognizable with their bluish-grey skin, dry bodies, blood-red eyes.
Sharp teeth resembling human-shaped monsters.
His guards and a few soldiers formed a team and moved forward.
Meeting Kana’s people at the riverbank.
"Who are you?" The guard asked.
Kana replied, "We are the Night Watchers, from the Eastern Wilderness.
