The Gentleman at the End Chapter 899

Chapter 899: Chapter 897: Handover

The “Body City” serves as an interdimensional hub, where often special items or individuals are transferred for processing. These peculiar objects, relocated from other worlds, usually need to be sent to special isolation labs for storage.

the item applied for by Yi Chen is not just an ordinary “forbidden object” but an extremely rare “Original Sin Forbidden Item” that has altered significant destinies and given rise to a supreme evil god.

As deduced by the Golden Lung Venerable, if it were not for the current dangerous situation, and if Yi Chen were not directly related to that evil god, such an item would never be granted to him.

Transporting this item here alone already entails a significant risk.

Yi Chen arrived at a white spherical structure resembling a sports arena, temporarily taken over by the Divine Domain’s containment organization, where all staff had been replaced by uniformly bald employees to ensure that the transfer process proceeded without any issues.

“Mr. Yi, please remove all objects on your body capable of energy sensing before contacting the special forbidden item, especially if they possess consciousness, they must not be carried.

If you have no clothing, we can provide you with a lab uniform.”

“Please give me a set of lab clothes, additionally, the items I’ll remove will be self-contained. Just lead ‘them’ to a resting area.”

The bald transfer officer felt that Yi Chen seemed to carry something else on his body, but at most guessed it was only one.

A peculiar Parasite crawled out of his earhole and quickly inflated upon contact with the air.

The expanding Parasite also began humanoid transformation, standing firmly on its bipedal structure with its scattered eyes darting rapidly, unable to focus.

The clothes worn by Yi Chen crawled like a reptile, shifting directly onto Nash, transforming into a checkered shirt and beach shorts.

Finally, a hint of ash drifted from the top of Yi Chen’s head, reminiscent of a miniature sun rising above.

The appearance of the little grape surprisingly triggered the alarm in the entire experimental zone, yet the danger level vanished immediately as it rested on Nash’s shoulder.

It naturally attracted a large number of containment staff, who were assured that the source of danger was a controllable item carried by Yi Chen, after it had passed the Golden Lung Venerable’s enlistment and was checked by the Pharaoh.

“Brother Yi, we’ll wait for you at the side! Wishing you all the best.”

From Nash’s expression, it was apparent he wished to join in, to have a look at the item that might relate to the death origin.

However, as long as Yi Chen could bring it back, delaying his exposure to it later wouldn’t matter.

Yi Chen donned an insulated, completely tight-fitting white lab uniform, and after a series of inspections passed, the transfer officer blocked him at the last door.

“Mr. Yi, please remember, the forbidden object you are about to contact represents a direct threat even to gods. Should you lose control for more than three seconds during contact, with an obvious suicide tendency, we will forcibly terminate the contact, revoking your usage rights.

Furthermore, we might not be able to prevent death from occurring, and by the time we react, you might already be deceased.

Let’s confirm one last time, do you wish to contact the ‘noose of ███’?”

“Alright! The corridor at the end of the door behind me leads directly to the room with the rope.”

The transfer officer opened a path, and as the engraved hydraulic door opened, a deep cylindrical passage appeared, estimated to be about three hundred meters long.

Upon stepping into the passage, Yi Chen immediately heard the familiar sound of ocean waves.

Though treading on the cold passage floor, he felt the crevices of his toes filled with moist sand.

In reality, anyone attempting to approach this rope would experience a similar sensation,

It’s just that others, when smelling this death aura, their body would involuntarily tremble and trigger a danger alarm in their brain, rousing consciousness to flee immediately.

Once Yi Chen was certain the object he was about to contact was related to the death origin, he unconsciously quickened his pace, even starting to run through the passage.

This scene was also transmitted to the monitoring room, where it seemed, to the researchers, likely to be an inducement effect of the rope, encouraging individuals to hasten towards ‘suicide’.

As Yi Chen reached the end of the passage, the hydraulic door there had already malfunctioned, necessitating the use of a manual lever to open.

When the door gradually opened, and Yi Chen directed his gaze inside, his pupils performed an evident dilation, causing his entire body to freeze.

A timeworn gallows was set within,

Ascending the tattered stairs, a wooden stool rested at the center of the gallows, atop of which hung a hemp rope, also the critical item for this transfer.

Even an ordinary person seeing this hemp rope would clearly feel an overwhelming death aura, succumbing to urination and defecation from fright.

Staring into the void within the noose, a compelling tug ensues, pulling Yi Chen to climb the fractured steps quickly, longing to nest his neck within.

Observing from the monitoring room, the staff shook their bald heads, each displaying varied disappointment.

Because Yi Chen’s reactions showed no deviation from previous experimenters, and if he couldn’t resist the suicidal urge, not to mention touching or controlling this rope.

“It seems this solitary believer is not much different… what a pity!”

“Don’t draw any conclusions prematurely; let’s see towards the end. Proceed without any interference.”

The transfer officer tasked with accepting Yi Chen in the hotel had a more pronounced confidence in him, having directly engaged with him, noticing many strange aspects, and a mysterious sense of danger emanating from Yi Chen.

In the footage, Yi Chen had already mounted the gallows, edging toward suicide.

If following the actions of prior experimenters, he would have stood on the prepared stool, proceeding to hang.

Yet Yi Chen bypassed the stool; his body floated naturally, delivering his neck into the void of the rope, slowly.

The transfer officer noticed something, “Quick, turn the ‘sensing parameters’ on the screen to the maximum!”

As the knobs were adjusted, the actual footage became somewhat blurred, but numerous shadows sprung up in the imagery.

It appeared as if numerous beheaded dead, kneeling on the ground, hand over hand, were lifting Yi Chen’s body, guiding it into the rope, resembling some bizarre death ceremony.

“Hanging wasn’t the rope’s inducement but rather Yi Chen’s own decision!”

As his neck fully snugged within, the dead let go.

Yi Chen, suspended, struggled violently, and, despite being in a live state after retrieval from the library,

This active physical form gradually died, sinking into the deep sea due to the function of the rope, possibly reaching the gods’ burial ground.

Once the physical form perished completely,

The monitoring screen suddenly dimmed, and amid an electromagnetic interference burst, a ghostly visage surfaced on the entire monitor, startling the staff.

When the screen returned to normal, the interior was deserted, and the rope tethered to the gallows had vanished.

As the staff instinctively sought to activate the first-level alarm, to notify the sealing of all experimental zones and doors, establishing a barrier.

The door to the monitoring room was suddenly rapped,

Amidst a death aura’s assault, a face penetrated the metal door, breaching inside.

Yi Chen coalesced into a human form conceptually, stood at the door, cast a sideways glance at the transfer officer responsible for this project, and gestured towards his own pocket.

“I’ve secured the item; can we leave now?”
