The Grand Duke's Son Is A Heretic Chapter 143

Robert stood firm on the wall, his sharp eyes scanning the battlefield. The enemy forces were closing in fast, but he had planned for this.

The first move was initiated when the Ice Titan wastrapped

A massive ice titan, standing like a frozen mountain, lumbered toward the wall.

Its sheer size made it nearly impossible to stop.

But Robert had prepared for this moment. "NOW!" he roared.

A group of soldiers heaved a massive snowball from the top of the wall onto a slab of ice. The snowball picked up speed, rolling down the frozen incline and growing in size. By the time it reached the titan, it had turned into a massive boulder. It slammed into the titan’s legs, sending the giant creature crashing to the ground. The impact shook the battlefield as the titan struggled to rise, only for archers to rain flaming arrows upon it, melting its body into slush.

The second wave was initiated by the Fire Harpoons

The towering trolls, their thick, frost-covered skin nearly impenetrable, stomped forward.

"Prepare the harpoons!" Robert commanded.

Ballistic harpoons, fitted with special ignition tips, were loaded into massive launchers.

"FIRE!" The harpoons shot through the air with tremendous force, piercing the trolls’ bodies.

Before they could react, archers released their flaming arrows. The moment the flames met the harpoons, they erupted in a brilliant explosion, encasing the trolls in fire. Their roars of pain echoed as they melted into the icy ground.

The enemy forces surged forward, unaware of the carefully dug pits hidden beneath the snow. As the frontline of monsters charged, their combined weight was too much for the weakened ground.

A sudden cracking sound filled the air. The ice beneath them shattered, revealing a deep trench below. The monsters fell into the frozen abyss, their screams fading as the ice closed in above them. Those that tried to climb out were met with spears and arrows, ensuring they never reached the surface again.

Then came the fire oil wave.

A pack of frost wolves, their bodies covered in spiked fur and razor-sharp claws, sprinted toward the gate. "NOW! RELEASE THE OIL!"

Soldiers overturned massive barrels of oil onto the icy field below. The liquid spread rapidly, coating the ground and monsters alike. "LIGHT IT UP!"

At Albert’s signal, torches were thrown into the oil-soaked snow. The flames ignited instantly, creating a sea of fire. The frost wolves howled in agony as they burned, their fur acting as fuel for the fire.

Following it mages started making their moves.

A towering beast, taller than any man-made structure, stomped toward the fortress. Its sheer power could bring the walls down.

But Robert had another trick up his sleeve. "Mages! Hit the ridge!" High above, hidden behind the cliffs, mages unleashed a powerful shockwave spell.

The vibrations triggered an avalanche, sending tons of snow and ice crashing down on the beast and the monsters behind it. The enemy was buried alive, their roars muffled under the crushing weight of nature itself.

With most of the enemy force neutralized, Albert turned to his troops. He drew his sword and raised it high. "NOW, WE DESCEND! FINISH THEM OFF!"

A thunderous war cry erupted as soldiers charged out of the gates, weapons in hand. The real battle was about to begin.

The battlefield was a frozen wasteland, illuminated only by the fiery glow of burning monsters and the occasional flashes of magic. Snow swirled in the air, kicked up by the chaos of battle.

The ice field had become a graveyard, littered with the bodies of fallen monsters and men alike. The air was thick with the stench of blood, sweat, and burning flesh.

At the heart of the battlefield, Baret and Chris fought side by side, their swords flashing under the dim light. Baret lunged at a charging beast, a monstrous wolf-like creature with jagged fangs and blood-red eyes.

He ducked under its swiping claws and drove his sword deep into its belly. The beast let out a terrible howl, thrashing wildly before collapsing into the snow. Chris spun around just in time to parry another creature’s attack, his blade meeting a thick hide. Gritting his teeth, he twisted his sword and drove it upward, slicing the creature’s throat.

"Grrrrr!" the monster snarled, gurgling as it collapsed.

"Stay sharp, Chris!" Baret shouted as he barely avoided a swipe from another monster. "These things won’t go down easy!"

A few feet away, Gare faced a hulking creature covered in frozen spikes. It lashed out with a massive arm, but he rolled to the side, barely dodging the strike. With a grunt, he drove his sword into its knee, forcing it to stagger. The monster let out a chilling shriek before Gare finished it off with a swift slash to the throat.

Further back, Kassel and Heru fought with brutal efficiency. Kassel’s war axe cleaved through a towering troll’s thick hide, splitting its shoulder apart in a spray of dark blood. The troll roared in fury, raising a massive club, but before it could swing, Heru’s hammer came crashing down on its knee, shattering bone. The creature fell with a howl, and together, the two warriors finished it off with a final blow to the head.

"Haha! These monsters ain’t so tough!" Heru laughed, wiping sweat from his brow. "They scream real nice when you smash their bones!"

Kassel smirked. "Then let’s give them more to scream about!" He turned, swinging his axe into another monster’s ribs, sending it toppling into the snow.

Above them, Albert led the charge, his voice booming across the battlefield. "Hold the line! Archers, keep firing! Push forward and don’t let them regroup!"

Albert’s sword slashed through the air, cutting down monsters left and right. His blade was like a whirlwind, striking with precise, deadly force.

He parried a clawed attack, countered with a swift thrust, and drove his sword through a monster’s chest. The creature let out a pitiful shriek before collapsing into the icy ground. He pivoted and blocked another strike, then ran his sword through the attacker’s skull.

All around, knights and mercenaries fought fiercely. The ground was slick with blood and melted snow, making every movement a challenge.

The knights, clad in heavy armor, formed tight defensive formations, using their shields to block incoming attacks before retaliating with precise strikes. Mercenaries, faster and more agile, darted between the creatures, slashing at exposed weaknesses.

"DON’T FALTER!SHOW THESE BASTARDS WHAT HELL TRULY MEANT!"
