The thick stone walls blocked out the howling wind and snow, while the dim light from the fluorite stones brought a hint of warmth. Odin’s tense nerves couldn’t help but relax a little, and he began to take a serious look at his surroundings.

The more he observed, the more surprised he became.

Not only was the environment clean, but the furnishings and utensils also bore considerable signs of intricate carving, hardly resembling the dwelling of a giant. It looked more like a stone house meticulously crafted by the Divine Race.

No, it even surpassed the living standard of the Divine Race.

His fellow clansmen at most polished simple stone tools and sewed coarse animal skins; both aesthetically and technically, they couldn’t compare to the son of a giant before him.

“Are you really of Giant bloodline? I’ve never seen a giant with such a penchant for luxury like you.”

Odin glanced at Luo En beside him, his eyes reflecting doubt.

Luo En gave a slight smile and counter-asked,

“Are you really of Deities bloodline? A deity who chooses to flee instead of fighting to the death against a formidable enemy, I’m seeing for the first time as well.”

Their eyes met and an unspoken smile appeared on their faces.

Alright, there are always misfits in every group, and they were clearly among them.

After ending the brief probing, Odin followed Luo En into the inner hall.

As soon as they entered, the aroma of food wafted over, and his gaze was irresistibly drawn to the preserved meats and smoked fish on the storage shelf, his Adam’s apple involuntarily moving.

Seeing Odin’s reaction, Luo En extended an invitation,

“The Frost Giants outside probably won’t leave anytime soon, so sit down, have some food, and rest for a bit.”

Already starving, Odin gladly accepted, sat down at the stone table, and began to dig into the dishes Luo En served.

The moment the food touched his taste buds, Odin was conquered by the delicious flavors and exclaimed sincerely,

“Brother, your cooking skills are unparalleled! Compared to you, the food those women in the tribe make is practically swill!”

As Luo En humbly concurred, he presented new dishes and through casual conversation gleaned a general understanding of the Divine Race’s situation from Odin.

The situation was worse than he thought.

In this God Era World of ice and fire, not only was the environment extremely harsh, but resources were also scarce; everything depended on plundering.

If one couldn’t outfight the giants, then it meant competing with one’s own people.

Due to the lack of sufficient resources and living space, the number of the Divine Race always struggled to increase and had even begun to show a clear downward trend as the giants proliferated unchecked.

If this continued, it wouldn’t be long before deities became a thing of history.

It was precisely because of this, that Odin, the grandson of the god-ancestor Buri, was sent out to lead an expedition to explore the outside world, looking for a new haven for the weakening Divine Race.

“It really is unfortunate. This place used to be peaceful until a powerful troop of Frost Giants suddenly appeared, and each seemed to be a direct descendant of the Ancestor Giant Ymir.”

Odin spoke, his expression turning gloomy.

Although he was the grandson of the god-ancestor Buri, he wasn’t overly favored or respected since he preferred using his brain over brawn, marking him as an outlier among his tribe.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been thrown out to lead such a hazardous exploration mission.

He hadn’t expected the mission to remain incomplete and nearly lost his life.

Moreover, with more than a dozen people sent out and only he coming back alive, he had no idea how to explain to his tribespeople.

With no place to vent his frustrations, Odin had no choice but to focus his energy on the food in front of him and began to gorge himself.

Even the two ravens on his shoulder were attracted by the scent of the food and hopped onto the table, joyfully pecking at the meat on the bones.

Luo En, however, did not hesitate to bring out his stored food, warmly hosting his unfortunate Divine Race “friend.”

Because the formidable troop of Frost Giants on the ice plains was most likely drawn there by him.

Just after arriving in the Nordic God Era, Luo En wanted to understand the situation there, so he had planned to first visit the growing World Tree and establish a connection. However, to his surprise, that area, because of its suitable environment, had become a nest for the Giant Clan.

Before he even encountered his old adversary Ymir, he bumped into a whole array of oddly shaped giants.

Though thanks to his formidable strength, Luo En managed to escape and even killed those giants in pursuit, this marked him by the Giant Clan.

Subsequently, after infiltrating the Giant Clan’s lairs to gather intelligence, he naturally had some collisions with those giants.

This back and forth meant that it was only logical for the other side to send a group of Frost Giants to trouble him.

But, a fire at the city gates brings disaster to the fish in the moat.

The big lugs who came for revenge didn’t find his cave hidden by Curses; instead, they ran into Odin’s exploration team head-on and took out all their frustration on these unfortunate souls.

So, Odin and his group were just collateral damage, caught in his scheme.

Perhaps out of a sense of compensation, Luo En even brought out his treasured delicacies to entertain Odin, the victim.

Looking at the clear, amber liquid in the bowl, exuding a rich honey aroma, Odin couldn’t help but ask curiously,

“What’s this? It smells amazing!”

“Honey Wine! I made it, a specialty I reserve for entertaining friends. Try it and see how it tastes!”

Luo En replied proudly, a hint of smugness in his eyes.

Although he had gained a variety of Authority and Divine Positions through numerous breakthroughs, the God of Wine was still his original Divine Office.
