Pu Jianyi paused for a few seconds. He was caught off guard by that answer.
Tong Xuelu lifted her brows some. “I am just kidding with you, Comrade Pu. It is ‘lu’ (green) as in ‘the grass is green’.”
Pu Jianyi, “……”
He still felt that something was off.
He didn’t think much of it but brought up the question that he was interested in again, “Then, may I ask if you are in a relationship with Rugui?”
Tong Xuelu’s eyelids shuddered a few times gently and she put on a shy look, “Yes.”
Pu Jianyi was very excited when he heard that. “Really? You two are really in a relationship?”
Tong Xuelu said with a serious look, “Of course it’s true. We have been dating for over a year now.”
Over! A! Year! ! !
Pu Jianyi was stunned by the news. It took him a while to recollect himself.
He gritted his teeth and said, “I can’t believe he’d hide something like that from me! I asked him just yesterday and he told me he isn’t seeing anyone! How could he!”
Yup. She was right. There was no way Wen Rugui would have said such a thing given his personality.
Tong Xuelu’s pretty brows raised a little. She took a step back and started her performance.
She covered up her mouth and looked at Pu Jianyi dubiously, “If Rugui hadn’t told you about us, how did you find out about me?”
Pu Jianyi scratched his head and chuckled. “Well, that, hehe……”
Tong Xuelu took two more steps back and frowned at him. “Are you scheming something? Better be out with it now. Any more ‘hehehe’ and I am going to scream!”
Having said that, she looked around and looked like she was about to start screaming.
Seeing that she really was going to scream, Pu Jianyi panicked. “No, no, no, Comrade Tong. Don’t do that. I don’t have any bad intentions. I only know about you because last time Rugui……”
In order to alleviate Tong Xuelu’s worry, Pu Jianyi quickly told Tong Xuelu everything about how Wen Rugui had asked him to help with Tong Zhenzhen’s incident previously and how he happened to find out about her case this time and informed Wen Rugui about it.
After listening to the entire story, Tong Xuelu was stunned.
She never expected that Wen Rugui would help her out.
She had thought that she had been very lucky, and things had gone very well because of her plans.
That being said, why did he help her?
Was it because she was pretty?
