Blue veins bulged in the corner of his forehead and he fought back the impulse to throw the woman out the window. He peeled her feet off him with much difficulty, then moved her back to her original position.
An Xiaxia was such a sound sleeper that all his maneuvering didn’t wake her up. Smacking her lips, she even smiled. God knew what sweet dream she was having.
Sheng Yize stared at her for a moment, then raised his hand and rubbed her hair attentively.
It was unbelievably soft.
On an October night in this unknown mountain, stars twinkled in the sky and the moonlight was as cool as flowing water.
He looked at that delicate face and asked himself repeatedly.
An Xiaxia, are you the one I’m looking for?
Because he realized, he was beginning to panic and act flustered in front of her.
What would he do if the answer was no?
He was mawkish for three seconds before An Xiaxia interrupted him again. Sheng Yize was astonished by her posture yet again after she twisted her body at an impossible angle.
He looked closely at An Xiaxia’s exceptional posture and twitched his mouth, utterly speechless.
This dumb woman… how did she even survive to this day sleeping like this?
He patiently repositioned An Xiaxia again.
This time, An Xiaxia groaned a little, and Sheng Yize paused for fear of waking her up.
However, that brief pause was enough for An Xiaxia to turn around and hold onto him. She even wrapped her legs around his waist, apparently taking him for some sort of hugging pillow. She then slipped back to her sound sleep.
Sheng Yize kept his poker face on. Looking down, he saw that her collar was hanging open. He could even make out the fair skin above her chest under the moonlight.
He heaved a sigh and rearranged her clothes, then was about to push her away. However, his hands stopped halfway.
Well, it was just a hug.
A certain fellow tried to fool himself with those words.

The night passed without incident.
Early next morning, An Xiaxia and Sheng Yize changed back into their own clothes and were ready to head for the nearest town in Uncle Zhou’s vehicle.
An Xiaxia rushed out happily, but was dumbfounded the moment she saw what Uncle Zhou was “driving.”
What happened to the car she had imagined… well, all right… even if it wasn’t a car, she could have made do with a tractor!
But standing in front of them was a donkey cart!
The donkey snorted, then emptied its bowels right under An Xiaxia’s and Sheng Yize’s gazes…
An Xiaxia swung around with teary eyes. “Sheng Yize, I don’t want to ride this…”
Sheng Yize was speechless.
However, the other option was a walk of nearly ten kilometers to get to town…
The two exchanged looks and put on determined faces, then got on the donkey cart in dismay.
It was a bumpy ride and An Xiaxia was constantly thrown off her seat.
When she stumbled again, a pair of strong arms steadied her. Sheng Yize said coldly, “Hold onto me. You’re making me dizzy swaying around.”
An Xiaxia was almost moved to tears. “Sheng Yize, you’re such a good person! I won’t insult you any more! XOXO!”
Sheng Yize frowned and squinted. “What did you just say?”
An Xiaxia covered her mouth right away!
OMG, she almost let it slip again!
She gave him a silly smile. “No, nothing. You heard wrong.”
Sheng Yize kept his gaze on her. “You better give me a satisfactory explanation.”
An Xiaxia nibbled on her fingers, looking like a wronged puppy. She didn’t know what to do.
Uncle Zhou’s voice came to her rescue. “We’re here. You two can take a bus from here!”
An Xiaxia rose to her feet right away. She thanked Uncle Zhou and promptly fled the scene.
Sheng Yize snorted, then went after her with large strides.
