"Did you hear me or not? If you heard, respond to me." Lin Caisang sternly asked them.
"Yes, we heard you." The maidservants murmured in reply, pressing their lips together.
"Where is your voice? Have you not eaten or do you wish to starve in the future? Do you think you are mere mosquitos? Respond to me louder!" Lin Caisang barked at them again.
Originally, seeing these people having endured so much suffering and fear, she intended to treat them kindly. Who knew they would turn out to be so difficult to control?
If that’s the case, why should she treat them politely?
The maidservants responded again, this time their voices markedly louder.
"Good that you heard."
Lin Caisang coldly watched them.
"Remember what I said today. If any of you harbor inappropriate thoughts, don’t blame me for being impolite. I am a businesswoman. I don’t mind running a business that makes money easily. If that happens, you won’t need to go to the military camp, instead, you will work straight away!"
She warned them again.
Hearing her words, none of the maidservants dared to breathe audibly. They naturally understood what kind of business Lin Caisang referred to, was it not the entertainment industry?
"Alright, I bought you all to work. I do not need to say much, Zhe Jue, have them line up. There isn’t much to be done today, I will take their pulses."
She turned to Zhe Jue, instructing him.
"Yes, Miss Lin." Zhe Jue responded.
Originally, taking the maidservants’ pulses was an impromptu decision primarily intended to ascertain if any of them were sick. She had no idea, however, that Lin Caisang would incidentally discover an issue.
"Brother Molian, didn’t you say that when these people were bought, they would all be forced to take some kind of medicine?" After taking the pulses of dozens of maidservants, Lin Caisang approached Ya Molian, lowering her voice as she questioned him.
This was something Ya Molian told her. He must have gathered the information previously. There couldn’t possibly be a mistake, could there?
Ya Molian narrowed his dark eyes, glancing at the maidservants.
"Do they all have issues?" He asked.
There couldn’t possibly be an error in the information. He did not buy these maidservants, but everyone knew the situation. Slaves who could possibly be sent to military camps wouldn’t possibly be allowed to conceive, right?
"Not all, four among a dozen or so." Lin Caisang replied.
Ya Molian immediately turned his gaze towards Zhe Jue.
"Master, what are your orders?" Zhe Jue immediately came over.
"Did these people all arrive in the same batch?" Ya Molian asked him.
Upon hearing this, Zhe Jue glanced at the maidservants with a puzzled look before turning back, "Yes, Master, they all came in the same batch. Their accents all belong to Jidi."
As Ya Molian was about to ask something, he was interrupted by Lin Caisang who had grabbed his wrist. He lowered his gaze to look at her.
"Brother Molian, I’ll separate these people first."
Ya Molian nodded, watching her take the pulses of the maidservants and divide them into two groups. Interestingly, all the adult women had been administered the medicine, only eleven young maidens were singled out by Lin Caisang.
"Except for these eleven, the rest can go about their usual tasks." Lin Caisang gestured at them with her hand.
