The assassins fell easily, not even getting a chance to attack at the best of their ability, thanks to Sasha’s amazing defense. Gwen and Amaya, while not as strong as the assassins, were able to pick away at them until they all died, leaving a pile of corpses in their wake.
Kai barely did anything and let his girls have all the fun. If he wanted to, he could kill every single one of them with a snap of his fingers.
"Well, that was easy," Gwen commented, pulling her hand out of an assassin’s chest.
"Yeah, I expected more of a challenge. Even with Kai’s protective aura." Amaya agreed.
Sasha was the only one who didn’t care about how easy it was. "On the bright side, we get to take all their money."
"Now that’s what I’m talking about!" Kai joined in, taking the valuables from the assassins.
"You do know that stealing from the dead is a bad omen, right?" Amaya asked
Kai looked at Amaya with a ’Really now?’ expression. "And what are they gonna go with all this? Use it in the afterlife?"
She tried to respond, but she had no comeback, so she just sat down until Kai and Sasha were done.
Compared to the wealth Kai had, nothing the assassins carried could come close to that, but he didn’t care. More money is more money, and he will always welcome more money. He planned on selling some of the items he had no use for, like the weapons and such.
"Alright, ready to go?" He asked
"Yeah."
"Yup."
"I’m all set."
"Sweet, let’s get a move on! Up, up, and away, carriage!"
For the remainder of the distance, Kai flew the carriage to Mareford Town.

"Hey, dude, do you see that in the sky? That’s one big ass bird." A man said to his friend as they walked out of Marenford Town.
"Huh? You’re right, that is one big bird. Wait a minute, doesn’t that look like a carriage?"
"Dude, what? Are you off your meds, man? How in the world does that look like a....What the fuck, that’s a flying carriage!"
The carriage landed right in front of them, picking up dust and dirt in the process.
They coughed, watching four passengers exit the vehicle, then the carriage vanished without a trace.
"Wooo! I love flying. It’s so fun!" Amaya shouted, stretching her body and sniffing the air.
"I can’t wait to grow my wings! Then I can fly all I want without using magic." Gwen was not optimistic about her future abilities, no longer seeing them as a sore spot in her life.
Sasha shook her head. "I’ll stick to the ground, thank you very much."
The five of them checked in with the guards before entering the Town. Marenford was bigger than Hearthwood, but also the complete opposite of it.
Where Hearthwood was sunny with clean streets, cheerful kids running around, lively chattering, and had an overall great atmosphere, Marenford was dark, gloomy, with dirty streets, poverty everywhere, and people begging for money or food.
"Ugh! The smell is horrible!" Amaya covered her nose as her senses were sensitive.
Gwen patted Amaya on the back as she, too, had to cover her nose.
While walking down the street, they saw a man getting mugged. The man didn’t want to hand over his things, so the mugger killed him and ran off with the stolen items.
"Damn. Just like that? In the middle of the town in broad daylight?" Kai looked up. "In gloomy daylight?"
"This place already sucks. Let’s leave. Sticking around here will only cause problems." Sasha was ready to leave, but before they could, some people walked up to them.
"Hey, you kids must be new around here, I’ve never seen yer before. Don’t you know you need to visit the boss before you roam around the town?" Some thug said, spitting some wheat he was chewing on out of his mouth.
"Well, you just answered yourself, dumbass. We’re new around here." Kai rolled his eyes and started walking away.
The man looked at his friends and grabbed Kai’s shoulder. "Did I say you can go, buttercup?"
"Are you trying to fuck me? Because no man is this clingy with another man unless he likes dick. You like dick? You were just chewing on something earlier. Did you finish sucking off some man in the alleyway?" Kai asked, pushing the man’s hand off his shoulder.
The thug was clearly embarrassed by Kai’s comment, getting angry at the thought of him sucking another man’s dick.
"You take that back!" He shouted
"Sorry, but company policy says that we cant take returns. Read the fine print."
"The fuck are you talking about?!"
"Amaya," Kai called out. "She’s the head of security." He let the men know
"Hehe!" In the blink of an eye, Amaya cut the tendons of all the men there, blood gushing out of their legs as they fell to the ground.
"Be grateful that you’re not dead. There wont be a next time. Let’s go." Kai and his girls left the thugs to bleed out.
"W-We have to tell the boss! He wont like people doing what they want on his turf!"

When everyone arrived at the Guild, they were seriously unimpressed. Sure, they had come from an amazing place that was Ashenfall, and they didn’t expect Marenford to have the same level of quality, but this was not what they had in mind.
"This place..." Gwen started speaking.
"Is a piece of shit." Kai finished. "Like what the actual fuck is going on here?"
The wood the building was made out of was rotting, the signboard was falling off the top of the guild, and the path leading to the building was muddy and dirty. People were openly taking a piss and shitting in the alley next to the guild, and the people who walked out of the place looked and smelled disgusting.
"Yeah, Sasha’s right. Let’s just leave this place. I have no plans to stay in some dump like this." Kai looked disgusted at the sight of the place and wanted no part in it whatsoever.
