The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne Chapter 558

Nolan stepped into the room. Inside, Kaede was already lying on the bed.

She looked restless, as if something was deeply troubling her.

"You look restless. Are you worried about your maid?"

Nolan’s calm voice startled Kaede. She quickly sat up and turned to face him.

With a weak nod, she replied, "Yes... I’m worried about Kamari. She was injured because of me."

Her gaze was downcast, filled with sadness and regret.

Kamari and Tamari were her personal maids who had been with her since childhood.

She never expected Tamari to sacrifice her life to protect her, and now Kamari was seriously injured.

Kaede had no idea what condition Kamari was in. It was possible she might follow Tamari, and that thought deepened her sorrow.

Nolan walked toward her and reassured her, "Don’t worry. Both of your maids are safe. I’ve moved them to another room."

His words stunned Kaede. She looked up at him with a bewildered expression.

"Both of them... survived? Tamari too? How is that possible?"

She still remembered how sharp and terrifying the dagger thrown by that man had been.

If it hadn’t been for Tamari, she might have died on the spot.

"Nothing is impossible in this world," Nolan replied casually as he pulled a chair beside the bed. He sat down and calmly crossed his legs. "His attack didn’t strike any vital points, so I was able to save her."

The dagger had stopped just five centimeters from her heart. That was why Tamari survived.

Kaede was speechless, too shocked to say anything. In the end, tears slipped from the corners of her eyes as she bowed her head deeply toward him.

"Thank you... thank you so much," she said hoarsely. "If it weren’t for you, I don’t know what would have happened to me."

Without Nolan and his friend’s help, she might have died along with her two maids.

It would be a lie to say she wasn’t afraid. Death was the most terrifying thing to her.

Moreover, she still hadn’t found her sister, so she wasn’t willing to die yet.

Nolan remained silent for a moment before letting out a small sigh.

"Don’t cry yet. This isn’t over. There’s still a second wave targeting you."

His words stopped Kaede’s sobs. She stared at him, disbelief and fear filling her eyes.

"Are you saying the people who attacked me earlier were only part of the killers?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Nolan simply nodded. He glanced at her casually, then moved his index finger up and down.

Kaede understood the signal and immediately held back any sound.

Nolan stayed calm, his eyes closed.

Several seconds passed without either of them speaking.

The atmosphere grew tense, and the air felt heavy. Then suddenly, a supersonic wave burst from the ceiling.

Kaede didn’t know what caused it, but intense dizziness struck her.

It felt as if she had been hit with a wooden stick, her vision spinning uncontrollably.

Unable to endure it any longer, she lost consciousness and collapsed onto the bed.

Nolan was the same. His body slumped back against the chair as if he had fainted.

Shortly after, the ceiling collapsed, and two figures clad in brown cloaks appeared.

Both wore mysterious masks that concealed their faces. A powerful magical aura surrounded them, marking them as mages.

They hovered in the air for a moment before slowly descending to the floor.

"The target has been rendered unconscious. Now, let’s kill her," the man on the left said. "As for the man sitting next to her... hehehe... we can use him as a scapegoat."

His companion gave a slight nod. "Good idea. Let’s do it."

The two approached Kaede. Just as the man on the left raised his index finger to strike her, a hand suddenly grabbed it.

Startled, he turned his head and saw that Nolan had opened his eyes and was looking at him with a playful smile.

"You—"

Panic surged through him, and the magical power within his body flared wildly. But in the next second, it felt as if an invisible force had sealed his magic.

Not only him, but also his partner. Their hearts pounded violently, and they struggled to breathe.

"You... how are you still conscious?" the man on the left asked in fear.

Nolan let out a soft chuckle as he slowly rose to his feet.

"Why are assassins like you so stupid? You couldn’t even tell that I was awake. I really don’t understand your recruitment process. Are you just picked at random?" he mocked.

"Damn it!" His partner, unable to endure the humiliation, tried to throw a punch—but failed.

His body felt completely locked in place, utterly unable to move.

"How is this possible!? My magical power and my body are completely useless!" he cried in panic.

The man beside him felt the same. His body was utterly immobile.

"Alright, I’m bored. At first, I thought you were Celestial Mages, but it turns out you’re just weak Sages from the eastern continent. Your power is unstable as well, which makes me wonder if you’re nothing more than fake Sages," Nolan said coldly.

He removed his disguise. His white hair turned black again, and his red eyes shifted to purple.

Then, his purple pupils transformed into the Sun and the Star. Those were the Eyes of Chaos.

"The Eyes of Chaos!?" the two assassins exclaimed at the same time.

Disbelief and fear gnawed at them like ants devouring a centipede.

They had never seen the Eyes of Chaos before, but they knew the legend. It was said to be one of the most powerful eye techniques in the world.

The symbols of the Sun and the Star were manifestations of the immense power within them.

And now, those eyes appeared right before them. Didn’t that mean the man standing in front of them was the legendary figure—the Singularity of Chaos?

Unfortunately, it was too late to realize it. Black flames suddenly emerged out of nowhere and began to burn their bodies.

The fire consumed their legs first, then slowly crept up to their waists and chests.

The process was painfully slow, as if Nolan meant to torment them bit by bit.

They tried to scream, but no sound escaped. Their mouths were sealed by an invisible force, and their breathing grew increasingly ragged with each passing second.

At last, their bodies were completely reduced to ashes, settling into a small pile on the floor.

A death without sound, without tears, and without the ability to move even a single limb was the cruelest kind.

Nolan showed no emotion after killing them.

They were murderers, and countless victims had likely fallen at their hands.

Ending their lives in such a brutal manner was only fitting.

Nolan waved his hand, and the ashes instantly vanished from sight.

He stretched his weary body and whispered, "Now, I just have to wait for Evalyn to finish."
