When grandfather Fu and FangSu noticed that the little bun refused to move, they became worried and squatted beside her to ask her questions.
"Da Xia, are you afraid of them? Don't be, you are the star today, they are all scared of you." Grandfather Fu said while pointing at the cameras.
Butler Lu noticed the little girl's reluctance to continue and asked the media to turn off their flash, and seriously, they listened to him, because they were all worried about the adorable little girl that suddenly refused to walk forward.
When the cameras were turned off, Da Xia glanced at her great grandfather and pointed at the cameras.
"Yes, they have been turned off, we can leave now." Grandfather Fu said with a smile before Butler Lu helped him up by holding onto his arm.
Jasmine resumed walking while holding onto her old man's hand. FangSu who was worried earlier sighed in relief and continued walking with them, as the soldiers cleared the way for them.
When they got to the steps, FangSu lifted the little bun in her arms and walked the remaining journey with the old man.
The celebrant, Old Mr. Liu, came to the entrance to welcome Grandfather Fu when he heard her had arrived.
"Today is your birthday, you should have stayed back inside." Grandfather Fu said to his friend after shaking hands with him.
"Not after I heard you have arrived." Old Mr. Liu replied with a burst of hearty laughter.
"I apologize for coming late. I insisted on taking my family's little princess with me." Grandfather Fu said with a proud smile as he glanced at the little bun in FangSu's arms who was looking around curiously.
Old Mr. Liu glanced over to see the little girl in FangSu's arm and went on to touch her hand in other to get her attention.
FangSu greeted Old Mr. Liu with an excited gaze before calling out to the little bun. Jasmine heard her name being called, and retracted her gaze from the people she was starting at, to glance at FangSu.
"Da Xia, greet great grandfather Liu," FangSu instructed the little bun.
Jasmine glanced at the old man she was asked to greet and bowed her head slightly without saying anything.
Grandfather Fu and Old Mr. Liu chuckled heartily at the little girl's obedience and actions.
"Old Fu, I love your great-granddaughter already, I have a lot of goodies for her, bring her in!." Old Mr. Liu said happily as he ushered them in.
The news media snapped away and some of them recorded the little bun when she was greeting Old Mr. Liu.
"The little Princess of the Fu family is so smart!."
"I can't believe the Fu family are already teaching the little girl manners and ethics."
"I think she is just 14 months old, and she is so obedient!."
"The little girl is so cute, I want a child like her!."
After they went inside, Old Mr. Liu took Grandfather Fu to meet their friends who were already sitting inside. And when the old men from the other families saw that Grandfather Fu came with his granddaughter and great-granddaughter, they complimented him and also teased him for trying to show off in front of them.
Jasmine didn't feel comfortable being surrounded by the old men, so Grandfather Fu allowed FangSu to take her away, and of course, FangSu was very happy with the opportunity to take the little bun away, as she can finally have the opportunity to show her off.
On her way off to see a few friends and acquaintances, she came face to face with Zhang Junjie.
"What are you doing here?." FangSu asked with a surprised gaze. Before coming for the birthday party, she had texted Zhang Junjie about it, and he never mentioned that he would be present, so she was surprised to see him.
"Initially I didn't want to come to a boring party since my family was invited. But when you told me you were coming, I decided to change my schedule at the last minute." Zhang Junjie explained.
FangSu blushed at his response and said in a low tone, "You really came because of me?."
Zhang Junjie smiled and didn't reply to her question again, instead, his gaze was glued on the little girl that has been staring at him since he appeared before them.
"Is this your niece?." Zhang Junjie asked while pointing at the little bun who finally looked away from his face to look at the finger that was pointed at her.
At Zhang Junjie's reminder, FangSu remembered to introduce the little bun to him.
"Ah! Forgive me, I had forgotten you couldn't make it to her first birthday party. Now, permit me to introduce my Niece to you. This is Da Xia, she is my first brother's little daughter and my family's little princess. Ever since she was born, she has taken that title from me. Da Xia, meet my friend, Uncle Junjie, say 'hello' to him."
Jasmine refused to talk to Zhang Junjie and immediately hid away from him, by hugging FangSu's neck and looking the other way.
FangSu chuckled at her cuteness before saying to Zhang Junjie while patting the little girl's bottom, "I'm sorry, I think she is shy."
"I don't mind her actions, she is beautiful. Earlier, you said I was your friend, did you mean that?." Zhang Junjie asked with a half-confused, half-smiling gaze.
FangSu didn't seem to understand what he was driving at, and immediately said, "Are you not my good friend?."
Zhang Junjie chuckled at her ignorance and said, "I guess we both address each other with different titles while talking to other people. You just told your little niece that I am your friend, and now, I'm beginning to wonder how many people you have said the same thing to about me."
FangSu still looked a little lost, so Zhang Junjie had to explain things to her in plain language. "I told my family that I had a girlfriend. For a few months now, I thought I made feelings and intentions known to you, but it looks like you didn't get it, so, I'm going to make a request to you now, and you can't say no."
"What kind of request is that?." FangSu asked with palpitating heartbeats. She has always liked Zhang Junjie, but he just said that he had a girlfriend, and now, he wanted to make a request to her, so she was a little scared of what he had to say.
Zhang Junjie smiled and asked, "Will you be my girlfriend?."
