A scream echoed through the air.
Before Madam Tao’s hand could touch Su Yunjin, Gu Ya gripped her wrist.
Madam Tao grimaced in pain as she glared at Gu Ya, her face twisted with agony. How could she have forgotten?
Forgotten that Gu Ya was also here?
“Let go, release me! I’m disciplining my granddaughter; what does it have to do with you? You’re an outsider; by what right do you interfere in the Su Family’s affairs?”
Madam Tao glowered at Gu Ya. To her, Gu Ya was nothing but an irrelevant stranger. What business did someone with the surname Gu have with their Su Family’s matters?
With a forceful squeeze from Gu Ya, Madam Tao let out a wail like that of a pig being slaughtered.
“Oh, oh my, murder! The Gu’s are committing murder! Help, somebody help! A murder is happening!”
Gu Ya looked at Madam Tao coldly, his voice not loud but filled with immense pressure and authority.
“Yunjin is my wife, and her affairs are mine. As long as I, Gu Ya, am here, no one shall touch a single hair on my wife’s head!”
Gu Ya was clearly in protect-wife mode, making it obvious that he would defend Su Yunjin to the end.
“You—!” Madam Tao was so angry at Gu Ya that she was at a loss for words, simply grinding her teeth furiously.
Originally Madam Tao wanted to punish Su Yunjin, but now she was even more eager to flay Gu Ya alive!
Damnable Gu Ya, how dare he ruin her plans, how dare he side with that wretched Su Yunjin and oppose her?

Fearing Gu Ya would squeeze and break her wrist if he exerted more force, Madam Tao suppressed her anger and threatened Gu Ya to let her go, “Let go, release me at once! If you don’t let go, I’ll call for help.”
“Help, help! Xiaofu, come save your grandma, hurry, and call your grandpa over too…”.
Madam Tao wailed loudly while struggling mightily to break free from Gu Ya’s grip. As she struggled fiercely, Gu Ya narrowed his eyes slightly, loosened his hand, and Madam Tao, caught off-guard, fell backwards uncontrollably.
With a thud, Madam Tao landed sprawled out on the ground. “Ouch!”
