Fearful of their actions being exposed, Mrs. Zhang threw a tantrum, “Bah, what nonsense! Which eye of yours saw me and your brother setting your house on fire? If you did not see it, then do not talk rubbish. Hmph, your house caught fire, that’s what you deserved! What’s it got to do with us?”
As she spoke, Mrs. Zhang spat on the ground.
“Sister-in-law, do you and my brother think that just because my husband and I don’t have evidence, you can get away with it?” Su Yunjin laid out what was on her mind, and both Mrs. Zhang and Gu Baofu went pale.
Apart from feeling guilty, Mrs. Zhang silently cursed Su Yunjin numerous times.

Su Yunjin continued, “Brother, sister-in-law, although my husband and I don’t have evidence that you two were the ones who set the fire, if tonight’s incident spreads, I’m afraid you two will not be able to clear the suspicions. Late at night, you and my brother aren’t sleeping but sneaking around outside. It just so happens to be the same night my husband’s and my house was set on fire. If this gets out, I fear the villagers will suspect it was you two, right?”
Gu Baofu and Mrs. Zhang ground their teeth.

Mrs. Zhang was so angry that she was about to spit blood, issuing threats to Su Yunjin, “If you dare to spread rumors about tonight’s events, I swear I will not let you off.”
