The Hunter's Lively Wife Chapter 49

Chapter 49: Chapter 49: What’s There to Fear?

The little wife spoke in a tone that sought to soothe him.

A big man like him was afraid of such little pain?

No delicate skin that couldn’t bear the slightest pain.

“Yunjin, go ahead with the medicine. No need to hold back!”

Gu Ya meant he was not afraid of pain, yet when Su Yunjin applied the medicine to Gu Ya, she still lightened her touch as much as she could. Su Yunjin, seeing the swollen area on Gu Ya’s back, first placed her hand there tentatively without moving it and felt Gu Ya’s body tense up.

Su Yunjin asked, “Did I hurt you?”

“It’s nothing!” Gu Ya said stiffly.

Clearly in pain, yet he claimed it was nothing. What a stubborn man, Su Yunjin chuckled inwardly, then continued to apply the medicine to Gu Ya. The ointment Mrs. Chu had sent was cool, and initially, Gu Ya felt a twinge of pain when his little wife touched the wound, but gradually, Gu Ya felt the pain lessen significantly.

It even felt somewhat comfortable.

Su Yunjin, skilled in medicine, also gave Gu Ya a gentle massage on the swollen area while applying the medicine. This could help the ointment penetrate faster and reduce the swelling on Gu Ya’s back.

Su Yunjin applied the ointment to Gu Ya twice, making sure it covered every part of the wound on his back. Only then did she pull her hand away and said to Gu Ya, “All done, I have applied the ointment. You can put your clothes back on now.”

More than half of the ointment was still left in the box. Su Yunjin put the remainder away for the next application. There was an old, worn wooden cabinet by the bed. She squatted down, opened the cabinet drawer, and placed the ointment inside the small drawer.

By placing the ointment in the wooden cabinet near the bed, Su Yunjin thought it would be convenient for the next application, as it could be easily taken out for use. Just after she had put away the ointment, she looked up to see Gu Ya had swiftly dressed in his robe.

Su Yunjin eyed Gu Ya, now dressed, and inexplicably felt the urge to peel back his clothes for another glimpse of the fine physique underneath.

Of course, she restrained herself in the end.

Outside the courtyard, the Gu Family had already finished their meal, and no food was left for Su Yunjin on the table. Fortunately, Su Yunjin had saved some food for Gu Ya earlier, so they managed to eat together.

Su Yunjin had saved pig blood and stewed pig intestines for Gu Ya, which she had kept warm in the pot. Now, as she served them, neither the dish nor the vegetables were cold; the pig blood and intestines were steaming hot and completely free of any fishy smell.

Originally, Su Yunjin had saved a good amount of food for Gu Ya, which would have been just enough for one person. But now, with her included, the food seemed a bit scarce for two.

To help his little wife recover her strength, Gu Ya purposely ate the stir-fried water celery and did not touch the pig blood and intestines, the richer and stronger-flavored dishes.

Realizing Gu Ya’s intention, Su Yunjin picked up a piece of the stewed pig intestine and put it into his bowl, saying, “You should eat too! I can’t finish a whole bowl by myself!”

“Yunjin, you eat it! The doctor said you need to nourish yourself!” Again, Gu Ya transferred the piece of pig intestine Su Yunjin had picked for him back into her bowl.

Gu Ya refused to eat, so this time Su Yunjin directly grabbed the pig intestine with her chopsticks and stuffed it into Gu Ya’s mouth, “Eat if I tell you to eat. Why fuss so much?”

“·······.” Since the little wife had stuffed the pig intestine into his mouth, Gu Ya did not return it to Su Yunjin this time and just ate it.

Gu Ya intended for Su Yunjin to eat more, so in the end, she did eat the majority of the pig blood and intestines. Gu Ya only had two bowls of brown rice before he put down his chopsticks and said to Su Yunjin, who was clearing the dishes, “Yunjin, I’m going out for a bit.”

“Where are you going?” Su Yunjin instinctively looked towards Gu Ya as he headed out, her eyes filled with confusion and wonder about what he had to do so late at night.
