Su Yunjin looked at Gu Ya and suddenly understood why he had taken her to buy candies at the store today—it was for her to eat with her medicine!

Su Yunjin looked at the bowl of pig blood in her arms, secretly pleased that with this bowl of pig blood, they could have an extra dish for the night. Mrs. Song did not know how to prepare pig blood properly; it was unprocessed and tended to not taste good or coagulate properly.
Fearing that the pig blood would spoil if left out too long and become difficult to handle, Su Yunjin did not delay and began preparing it immediately upon returning. She skillfully processed the pig blood, cut it into chunks, and placed it on the stove, ready for use. This way, when it came time to cook the pig blood in the evening, she could simply take out the pieces from the bowl, cut them into smaller chunks, and cook them.

Carrying her basket up the mountain again, she found some Houttuynia Cordata and water celery and also gathered two handfuls of potherb mustard. Potherb mustard was something Su Yunjin found by accident on her way back and decided to pick on a whim!
