Su Yunjin took the ointment and sat by the bed, glancing at Gu Ya’s back. Compared to yesterday, the swelling had noticeably gone down.
The surrounding dark and purplish skin had also lightened.
“Hubby, it seems the ointment your fifth brother’s wife gave me is quite effective. The wound on your back has healed a lot,” Su Yunjin said, examining Gu Ya’s back.
While talking, Su Yunjin had already scooped a bit of ointment onto her hand from the box. Though Gu Ya’s back was less swollen than yesterday, the swelling was still somewhat scary.
Worried about hurting Gu Ya as she applied the ointment, Su Yunjin first tentatively touched his back, then slowly smeared the ointment on the red and swollen area, “Hubby, if it hurts, just tell me! I’ll be gentler!”
“Yunjin, it’s fine. Just go ahead and apply it,” Gu Ya said. After a day’s time, the swelling on his back from Niu Dahu’s beating had long since stopped hurting; it was just a little uncomfortable to the touch. As a man, even when he was freshly beaten by Niu Dahu, Gu Ya didn’t feel much of it.
Let alone now that a whole day had passed.
Even less would Gu Ya consider such mild pain worth his attention.
If it weren’t for Gu Ya wanting to savor the sensation of his little wife applying ointment to him again, he might not have needed to continue with the ointment at all. Su Yunjin’s technique was good, and she also massaged the swollen areas to reduce the swelling; if yesterday she would occasionally touch the wounds causing pain, then today Gu Ya didn’t feel a twinge of pain at all.
Rather, his little wife’s soft fingers on his back, slowly applying the ointment, made Gu Ya feel quite pampered and comfortable.
Su Yunjin reapplied the ointment to the swollen area twice and massaged the particularly swollen spots before drawing her hand back and saying to Gu Ya, “Alright, hubby, I’ve finished applying the ointment! You can get up and get dressed now.”
“So soon?” Gu Ya was enjoying the feeling of his little wife applying the ointment. When she suddenly said she was done, he felt somewhat reluctant to let the moment end.
Su Yunjin didn’t think it was too fast, “Fast? I think it’s about the same as yesterday?”

When Su Yunjin saw the man, he also saw her.
He simply glanced at Su Yunjin, then carried a wooden basin inside! He entered the room next to the one belonging to her eldest brother and Mrs. Zhang.
After entering, the man shut the door to the room behind him casually.
Seeing the man’s familiar and natural movements, Su Yunjin silently guessed that he must also be a member of the Gu Family, but why had she never seen him before?
And why did the original owner of her body have no memory of this man either?
