The plaque bore the name, Chu Residence.
Su Yunjin surveyed the place; it was her first time visiting the young master’s dwelling, which explained why she always encountered him near the Fuman Building at the market.
The young master lived so close to the Fuman Building that Su Yunjin couldn’t help but take in the surroundings while Gu Ya did the same. After a good look, Gu Ya turned to his little wife.
“Yunjin, this place must be the young master’s estate,” the two large characters for ‘Chu Residence’ on the plaque were an obvious testament to that fact.
Su Yunjin nodded, “Husband, I’ll go knock.” Approaching the gate, Su Yunjin knocked twice with her hand, and soon, the large doors of the estate swung open.
A middle-aged man in his forties or fifties, who had never seen Su Yunjin before, asked with surprise, “Miss, may I know whom you are looking for?”
As the man inquired, he looked Su Yunjin up and down. Gu Ya followed behind his little wife, approaching the man, “Uncle, my wife and I are here to deliver wine to your esteemed residence.”
Upon hearing it was a delivery of wine, the man’s reaction was immediate. Indeed, the young master had mentioned a couple of days ago that someone would come to the mansion to deliver fruit wine.
He was told to let them in when they arrived. Realizing Su Yunjin and others were there to deliver the wine, the man glanced outside the estate and belatedly noticed the six carts of fruit wine.
The young master took the matter of the fruit wine very seriously and had reiterated his instructions several times, emphasizing to not neglect the delivery, so understanding that Su Yunjin and her companions were delivering the fruit wine,
the man quickly said, “Please wait a moment, I’ll go inside and find some servants to move the fruit wine.” Su Yunjin and her husband Gu Ya exchanged a glance.
Since the Chu Residence was arranging for the wine to be moved, they had no objections. The man went inside, leaving Su Yunjin and her husband Gu Ya to wait outside.
When Su Yunjin initially set out to deliver the fruit wine, she was worried that complications might arise, but now that she had successfully delivered it to the Chu Residence, the anxiety that had been hanging over her dissipated.
“Husband, at last we have successfully delivered the fruit wine to the young master,” Su Yunjin said to Gu Ya with a smile, her tone light. Having delivered the wine,
they were also about to receive the payment of several dozen taels of silver.
Thinking of the silver that would soon be in her hands, Su Yunjin’s eyes gleamed with anticipation. Meanwhile, hiding in the shadows, Fan Wenxuan did not expect to encounter Gu Ya and his wife Su Yunjin.
