Chapter 209: A Sudden Message
Su Wan looked at the back of her hand. Sure enough, it had turned red. She rubbed her hand with her ring finger and a heart-piercing pain reached her brain.
A few uncontrollable tears appeared in her eyes. When she thought there were people around, she lowered her head and kept blinking and forcing her tears back.
Tang Yifeng looked at Su Wan worriedly. When he opened the door just now, he didn’t know Su Wan was at the door.
Who knew it was so unfortunate?
“I’m sorry, Su Wan, does your hand hurt?”
Su Wan looked up and smiled faintly, “I’m fine. It’s just a little red. Brother Tang, are you going off now?”
Tang Yifeng nodded and touched his nose. “I’ll make a move then. Sorry about just now…”
Su Wan smiled. “Goodbye, Brother Tang.”
The sound of the elevator sounded and Tang Yifeng went into the elevator immediately. Su Wan waved at him and then walked into Jiang Xuecheng’s office.
“Xuecheng, we’re off duty, let’s go home together.”
Jiang Xuecheng stared at Su Wan. Then, he pointed at Su Wan’s hand. “It’s swollen.”
Jiang Xuecheng’s voice was faint but Su Wan was shocked. Her body shook and when she lowered her head, she saw her swollen hand.
Su Wan sighed gloomily. “I said I wanted to eat a steamed bun just now and now I’ve got a ready-made one.”
“Wan Wan, you have a sense of humor.”
Looking at Jiang Xuecheng’s faint smile, a sense of helplessness flashed through Su Wan’s eyes. She rolled her eyes in protest.
“Look at me, I’m injured. Can’t you have some sympathy?”
“Nope.”
Jiang Xuecheng narrowed his eyes and there was a trace of teasing in his eyes.
Su Wan’s mouth twitched and she was tongue-tied. This man, Jiang Xuecheng, was born to conquer her. Who on earth would talk to one’s wife like this?
Jiang Xuecheng leaned forward and helped Su Wan sit down and made Su Wan a cup of Taiping Kowkui tea.
“You sit here. I’ll get an ice pack for you.”
Upon hearing this, a trace of astonishment flashed through her eyes. Although the entire twenty-seventh floor was exclusive for Jiang Xuecheng, how could he have everything here?
When Jiang Xuecheng’s huge figure disappeared from Su Wan’s sight, she pouted. After a while, Su Wan could smell a faint fragrance of tea.
Su Wan held up the glass tea cup with her non-injured hand.
Actually, Su Wan didn’t quite like drinking tea nor did she enjoy coffee. However, Jiang Xuecheng had a special liking for these two beverages.
Jiang Xuecheng was strict when it came to work. Sometimes, when his work that day was not done, he would lock himself in his study room when he was home.
Su Wan would then make him a cup of coffee or green tea.
After two minutes, Jiang Xuecheng brought the ice pack.
Su Wan sat on the leather sofa while Jiang Xuecheng knelt in front of her. He looked down and carefully placed the ice pack on Su Wan’s hand.
Su Wan stared at Jiang Xuecheng’s face which was so near her attentively. This man was really good-looking and more charming when looked at closely. There weren’t any flaws which one could pick.
Jiang Xuecheng’s skin was delicate and slightly fairer than the average men. His eyelashes were thick and long. Even so, it didn’t make one think he was a pretty boy but instead, he was manly.
This was perhaps because of Jiang Xuecheng’s distinctly outlined facial features. He was handsome and his nose was high and straight. Coupled with his dark and deep eyes, he was a breathtaking sight.
Many times, as long as one got a look from Jiang Xuecheng, one would feel like worshiping him.
Su Wan sneered at herself secretly in her heard. Why was her obsession getting more serious when she was with Jiang Xuecheng all day long…?
Su Wan smiled and put all her focus on Jiang Xuecheng’s eyelashes.
Hmm, since she had nothing to do, why not count his eyelashes?
One, two, three, four…
Jiang Xuecheng didn’t know Su Wan was doing such meaningless thing. He turned the ice pack while asking how Su Wan felt.
“Does it still hurt?”
Su Wan had counted up to thirty-seven in her heart but Jiang Xuecheng’s sudden question messed up her thoughts.
When she looked once again, she didn’t know which eyelash she had just counted.
Feeling upset, Su Wan pursed her lips. She felt her previous effort had been wasted. She was really interested in how many eyelashes Jiang Xuecheng had.
Jiang Xuecheng looked up to examine Su Wan with his eyes as deep as the sea.
“Wan Wan, why aren’t you talking?”
Su Wan was still immersed in her pain of recounting eyelashes and when she suddenly heard Jiang Xuecheng’s voice, she regained her senses.
She blinked her eyes and said casually, “No, it’s not painful at all.’
It was painful actually but when Su Wan immersed herself in staring at Jiang Xuecheng’s extremely handsome face, she had forgotten the pain for a moment.
Jiang Xuecheng saw Su Wan’s relaxed look and knew she was telling the truth. So, he lowered his head once again and applied the cold compact for Su Wan seriously.
“Wan Wan, you often get bumps and bruises. Don’t be so clumsy next time. You must cherish you own body.”
It was a low and cold voice but when it was said by Jiang Xuecheng, there was a sense of doting.
Su Wan blushed but when she realized that Jiang Xuecheng had called her clumsy, she started to defend herself.
“I was not clumsy! Just now, Brother Tang wanted to open the door and I was about to come in. Should I be blamed that my hand was hit? I’m not a person who would torture myself.”
Jiang Xuecheng placed the ice bag on Su Wan’s hand. He stood up and looked at Su Wan’s frantic face. There was a faint smile in his voice.
“Wan Wan, it’s useless to quibble. It won’t cover up the truth of your low IQ.”
Upon hearing this, Su Wan felt helpless. She clenched her teeth and thought Jiang Xuecheng was picking a fight!
“Okay, okay, you’re the smartest in the whole world!”
Su Wan rolled her eyes when she saw Jiang Xuecheng’s slight smile.
She knew it had become a rare pleasure for the narcissistic Jiang Xuecheng to hit her confidence.
Suddenly, there was a strong vibration from the phone in her handbag. Her eyes flashed and she took out her phone.
The screen lit up and a new message appeared.
“Haoxuan and An’ning will arrive at S City International Airport at 2 pm on Sunday. Wan, remember to go with Xuecheng to pick them up.”
Su Wan switched off her phone and a trace of complicated emotions appeared between her brows.
Jiang Xuecheng darted Su Wan a look. “What’s wrong?”
