(Part 1) Penny Shen set down the sheet music and looked toward Lin Fei.
Lin Fei paused slightly, this girl was quite sensitive to have noticed.
Just then, Lin Fei chuckled, “Misconception.”
Penny Shen leaned back on the sofa looking quite lazy, as though she were in her own home.
This was hardly the image of a star that one might imagine.
Lin Fei had heard a joke about a star who took off her makeup and high heels, but when someone knocked on her door, she stood on tiptoe to answer it, after quickly touching up her makeup.
Yet this girl didn’t seem to care about maintaining a glamorous image in front of him, a stranger!
Suddenly, Penny Shen asked, “Lin Fei, where are you from?”
“I’m from Jiangzhou.”
Lin Fei smiled and said, “I heard you’re from Manzhou, right?”
“I moved to Manzhou with my father when I was a child.”
Penny Shen smiled lightly, “What about your parents?”
“I don’t know, they’re probably dead.”
Lin Fei shook his head.
“It’s okay, don’t worry about it, I’ve never seen my parents since I was little.”
Lin Fei laughed heartily, indeed seeming unconcerned.
Penny Shen’s gaze flickered slightly, then asked, “You’re quite handsome, you must have a girlfriend, right?”
This beast Lin Fei would never admit to having a woman in front of a beauty.
But at this moment, as if possessed, he felt he shouldn’t deceive this girl and nodded, “Yes.”
Penny Shen’s expression changed slightly, then she laughed, “Is your girlfriend pretty?”
Lin Fei found it strange.
Why was this girl seeming to interrogate him, curious about everything?
“Bring your girlfriend to meet me sometime.”
Penny Shen’s request seemed odd; their acquaintance was nothing more than a chance meeting, and their relationship was purely professional.
Yet she was asking so many questions, as if she were interested in his girlfriend.
Lin Fei couldn’t help but chuckle, “Why do you seem so interested in my affairs?”
“Shouldn’t I be interested in a man who catches my eye?”
Penny Shen cocked her mouth in a slightly mischievous manner.
Lin Fei paused slightly, thinking that if he took a photo of her , he might be able to sell it to her fans for a good price.
But something felt off.
Was this girl too interested in him?
Although Lin Fei always boasted of his charm and that everyone loved him, he knew it was just talk, so how could he believe a woman who had met him only twice would fall for him?
While love at first sight is unpredictable, Lin Fei couldn’t believe that this superstar and great beauty would fancy him, a minor manager in a company.
“By the way, why did you call me here?”
Lin Fei changed the subject.
“Just to have you listen to me sing, don’t you want me to produce the best effect when I’m recording?
That’s why I need to practice!” Penny Shen laughed.
I don’t know much about music, should I find someone from the company who does to listen?”
Lin Fei suggested with a smile.
“What, you don’t want to be responsible after such a short time?
We’re all counting on you,” Penny Shen raised her eyebrows slightly, her gaze burning into Lin Fei.
Being stared at by an unfamiliar beauty made Lin Fei feel quite peculiar, but of course, Lin Fei wouldn’t shy away.
You look at me, can’t I look back at you?
And so, they locked eyes for a while until Penny Shen seemed to concede, her eyes flashing seductively as she smiled, “You keep staring at me like that, do you think I’m pretty?”
