Added to her fair skin were patches of crimson, much like the red leaves fluttering in Canada’s autumn.
Not to mention, the little assistant’s cheeks were rosy, and her lips slightly swollen from his kisses, her eyes alluring like silk yet with such a serious expression—it was just so provocative, begging to be dominated!
He arrogantly tightened his embrace around her slender waist, his large hand intentionally squeezing her—one frown creased her brows, and she immediately glared at him: "Yu Zexiao!"
The man curled his lips, like a cat that had eaten its fill, and hummed softly through his nose: "Hmm?"
Such shameless posturing was truly unparalleled in his life; Jian Anning was momentarily speechless, and when she twisted slightly, she found herself held even tighter in his embrace.
"Then, it’s settled." He gently kissed the corner of her eye and, upon successfully harvesting her glare, said with conviction, "I won’t force you, but to give us more chances to get to know each other, you can’t stop me from getting close to you!"
"How can that be alright!" Jian Anning immediately objected.
"Why not?" Yu Zexiao cocked an eyebrow handsomely, "Didn’t you also say that there’s no emotional foundation between us? Then we must cultivate it! Without getting close, how can we possibly cultivate feelings?"
Jian Anning was instantly furious: "But how is this cultivating feelings?"
To cultivate feelings, shouldn’t it involve sharing poetry, talking about life’s aspirations? Who, like him, would cut straight to the point without so much as a word!
"How is it not?" Yu Zexiao pressed, "Between boyfriends and girlfriends, isn’t it normal to be intimate?"
This is where the thought patterns differ between men and women. Men always go straight to the point, while women hope to fuse with the other person wholly, both body and soul.
His words left her speechless, yet she was reluctant to let him have his way so easily. She felt something was off but couldn’t put her finger on what exactly.
"Look, I’m all set here, and I’m willing to agree to your first three conditions......" Actually, Yu Zexiao didn’t want to agree to her third condition—not to let him "have meat"! But he thought, as a superstar, he shouldn’t have to coax an unknown little assistant. It’d be too degrading if word got out!
He frowned slightly: "Anyway, I’ve agreed to your terms, so don’t be too unreasonable! Unless, you don’t want to be with me at all!"
Who wants to be with you... Jian Anning silently retorted in her heart. Yet facing Yu Zexiao’s slightly narrowed eyes, she sensed that if she didn’t agree, he would execute his plan right there and then!
While they were at an impasse, Jian Anning’s phone rang again. Glancing at the caller ID, it was Director Li calling personally!
With that, Yu Zexiao didn’t persist any further, and Jian Anning answered the phone: "Hello, Director Li. Yes, Zexiao is with me. We’re on our way back, will be there shortly. Sorry about that."
"It’s decided then," He nodded without a further word as soon as she hung up the phone, "From now on, I won’t force you, but you can’t reject my advances!"
Then, before she could express any opposition, he left "thump thump thump" without looking back.
"Hey, Yu Zexiao!" Jian Anning called after him, but he didn’t turn around, heading straight for the studio.
The wind blew, leaves fell, and the bend in the river lay in silence.
