Even after the shoot had ended early this morning, he dragged his exhausted body back, took a hasty shower, and fell into bed.
It was now noon. Jian Anning had returned with him, but during the breaks on set, she managed to rest a bit. Compared to Yu Zexiao, she was slightly less fatigued. Therefore, as soon as it reached midday, she got up and started cooking a delightful lunch.
When everything was ready, she took off her apron and ran over to knock on the door.
"Zexiao, time to get up. Zexiao," she called.
There was no response from inside.
"Zexiao, it’s lunchtime, and you’ve got to get styled later, we can’t delay any longer." She raised her hand and knocked on the door again.
Stillness reigned within the room.
She frowned, knowing that these past few days, Yu Zexiao had been eager to make amends, working incredibly hard on the shoot. Before coming home today, he had been up for 48 hours straight, managing only a three-hour nap during breaks and not even returning to the hotel, just catching some rough sleep in the nanny van. Now, he must have been too tired to even speak.
But with a very full schedule for the afternoon and evening, any delay would mean it was impossible to catch up later.
She knocked on the door again, but the silence persisted. Considering for a moment, she pushed the door open and entered.
The curtains in the room had already been drawn. Yu Zexiao was sprawled out, asleep on the KING-SIZE bed, wearing nothing to cover his body except for a pair of white briefs. A blanket had been kicked mercilessly to the foot of the bed. His figure was long and relaxed, his head buried in a soft pillow. His black hair was tousled in disarray, like that of a mischievous child.
When Yu Zexiao wasn’t causing trouble, he could actually be quite admirable. Even though she had previously despised him, sometimes she would still be mesmerized by his genuine demeanor. Especially recently, with the drama’s script including long sections of musical description. Standing offstage, she watched him exuding his ebullient musical grace above. Such soaring and unadulterated music could only be played by him!
Heaven had blessed him with a handsome face and a soul for music. His personality was brash and wilful, but seen from another angle, wasn’t it just a reflection of his simple and pure mind? If not for his stubborn and innocent attitude, perhaps he wouldn’t have been able to create such wonderful songs or play music that was so ethereal.
If it wasn’t for their constant proximity, she thought, it would be his music that would make her fall for him.
It was early autumn now, and although the weather was still hot, sleeping , he was sure to catch a cold.
Out of responsibility for his health, she picked up the blanket from the foot of the bed and gently covered him with it.
Well, if he wanted to sleep, let him sleep a little longer. Worst case scenario, she could pack the lunch in a meal box and let him eat it in the car.
Just as she was thinking this and turning to leave, suddenly a long arm wrapped around her waist and yanked her backward!
The arm moved so swiftly and with such force that Jian Anning, caught off guard, staggered and fell onto the bedsheet! The man next to her suddenly clung to her like an octopus, grinning mischievously, "Caught you!"
"Yu Zexiao, you..." Before she could finish speaking, he had caught her hands, pinned them above her head, and silenced her lips with his own.
