To tell the truth, she did have a good impression of Situ Xuan. However, even with this good impression, they had only met a few times. How deep could their friendship be?
Under normal circumstances, if a mature, steady man who was also very handsome and charming invited her out, she would probably have accepted. But, unfortunately, there was the oddball Yu Zexiao right beside her.
She wasn’t unaware of Yu Zexiao’s aversion to Situ Xuan. Some social courtesies couldn’t be ignored, such as thanking him with a smile when he helped her. But as for a closer relationship, especially in front of Yu Zexiao, she hesitated a bit, "Thank you, but..."

What, he even had her phone number! Yu Zexiao gritted his teeth with resentment. He really wanted to see what kind of trouble Situ Xuan, that bastard, would stir up!

The next morning at seven thirty.
Jian Anning sat at the dining table, putting away the breakfast plates that had been finished into the kitchen. Yu Zexiao was sitting on a chair beside her, holding a newspaper, but not reading a single word. His eyes were continuously glancing at her!
"Zexiao, what should we have for lunch? Do I need to buy something from outside?"
In the kitchen, Jian Anning asked while washing the dishes.
Yu Zexiao just "hmm"ed and didn’t answer.
He was exceptionally well-behaved this morning, contrary to his usual reluctance to get out of bed, getting up very early today. Moreover, he sat straight and properly at the chair for breakfast. While eating, he kept sizing her up, making Jian Anning unconsciously touch her face, "Is there something dirty on my face?"
"Nothing, just eat your meal!" Yu Zexiao said, and, losing patience, stuffed a piece of toast into her mouth. When Jian Anning finished washing the dishes and came out of the kitchen, Yu Zexiao’s neck, which had been stretched out, was quickly ducked back behind the newspaper. However, his action was too obvious and was noticed by Jian Anning, "What’s wrong with you?"
"It’s nothing." Yu Zexiao pulled his head back in, pretending to read the newspaper seriously, and did not forget to ask, "The weather is nice today, isn’t it?"
"Yes, the sunlight is especially good," Jian Anning replied, a faint smile appearing on her face as she looked at the sunlight pouring in from the window.
"Feeling good as well?" Yu Zexiao frowned, trying to sound calm, though he was almost grinding his teeth.
"Yeah, I finally get a break." She had been following Yu Zexiao around for months and finally had time to breathe.
It’s because you’re going out with Situ Xuan, so you’re in a good mood, right! Yu Zexiao thought and then suddenly lowered his voice dangerously, "Really want to go on a date with that man?"
