Yu Zexiao watched her depart with unrestrained anger, ready to give chase when a thought struck him. He dashed back into his room like a whirlwind, rummaging through his closet and swiftly changing into sportswear. Without a second word, he bolted out the door.
By then, Jian Anning had already taken the elevator down. He too raced to the lobby, arriving just in time to see Situ Xuan already waiting there. He immediately hid behind a large vase, peeking his head out, stealthily observing the scene.
Situ Xuan was dressed in a casual black ensemble. His complexion was paler than the average East Asian, which, coupled with the attire, accentuated his tall, leisurely but statuesque posture. Upon seeing her, he noted her straightforward yet elegant attire, the minimal makeup on her face struck a balance between formality and casualness, flawless in every aspect.
Without Yu Zexiao by her side, she seemed more at ease. Moreover, he wasn’t consumed by thoughts of winning her over to undermine Yu Zexiao. Instead, he simply regarded her as a man would appreciate a woman: with the most basic and direct admiration.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, did you wait long?" Jian Anning quickened her pace towards him. Situ Xuan put down the newspaper in his hands and slowly stood up, his expression serene, "I’ve just arrived as well."
That was the way of Situ Xuan, always appearing calm and composed, a stark contrast to the impulsive and capricious Yu Zexiao. "Then I’ll have to trouble you," she said.
With a slight smile, Situ Xuan stood up, gesturing gentlemanly, "Miss Jian, this way, please."
Yu Zexiao hid behind the vase, craning his neck to see Situ Xuan and Jian Anning leave together. He muttered with disdain while watching, "Look at that smug smile! It’s just shopping, what’s the big deal?"
As the two were about to exit, he tip-toed out stealthily from the other side.
Inside an extremely worn-out Volkswagen, Mo Siyu was yawning.
The previous night, in the midst of an intimate moment with a new fling, right before things turned inappropriate for children, a phone call came in.
"Damn," Mo Siyu cursed, especially upon seeing the name "Yu Xingxing" on the screen. He wished he could drag the jerk out and kill him a hundred times over!
Next time he had business , he would definitely turn off his phone! If he kept getting disturbed , he was bound to become impotent!
Consequently, Yu Zexiao had ordered him to be at the hotel where he was staying by seven-thirty in the morning. And he couldn’t drive his flashy Maserati but had to use an excessively beaten-up Volkswagen instead!
Upon hearing he had to be Yu Zexiao’s driver, Mo Siyu promptly grew agitated, "You ass, don’t you have a driver? Why drag me out here, and so early at that!"
Yu Zexiao scoffed with disdain, "No shit, I’m going out to catch a cheater. If I let driver Xiaowang do it, wouldn’t that give us away? And you want to drive that Maserati as if you’re worried people won’t know it’s me?"
"Catch a cheater?" The blunt term instantly woke Mo Siyu up, "Catch whose cheater? The little assistant’s?"
That couldn’t be right. No matter how you looked at it, the little assistant didn’t seem like the type to play two ends against the middle!
"It’s her!" Yu Zexiao was speaking when he suddenly overheard Jian Anning outside asking, "Zexiao, haven’t you slept yet? It’s getting late."
