Situ Xuan had been ignoring him and simply strode forward with long steps toward Jian Anning. Upon seeing him pushing further inside, Liu Xizhao immediately sprang into action with a sense of ownership, chasing after him, "Get the hell out of here now, didn’t you hear what Director Li said?"
"Didn’t you hear, get the hell out!" It was Director Li who, upon realizing the argument was still ongoing, stomped over angrily after yelling "Cut!"
Several security guards trailed behind him. Without a word, they approached the pair, and he pointed a finger fiercely at Liu Xizhao’s face, "Throw him out!"
Liu Xizhao was stunned. It had never occurred to him that he was the one Director Li meant! He looked at Director Li in confusion, with a forced smile on his face, "Director Li..."
Did Director Li have time to waste words with him? He hastily called over security, "Aren’t you going to drag him out yet?"
With Director Li’s order, the security guards didn’t hesitate to drag Liu Xizhao out, and the set returned to peace. Throughout this process, Situ Xuan stood off to the side, completely silent, as if he didn’t place any of these events within his concern.
Only after everything had settled did he slowly walk to Jian Anning’s side, standing shoulder to shoulder with her.
"Mr. Situ." Jian Anning felt somewhat awkward, but still nodded politely in greeting to him.
"Mmm." He hummed through his nose, a deep and lingering tone, his grey-blue eyes looked at her, and his lips curled up with a hint of a smile, "Are the flowers pretty?"
"Mr. Situ." Jian Anning was a bit overwhelmed, "I appreciate your kindness, but that bouquet is very expensive, and the stuff you sent before isn’t cheap either. I feel undeserving."
"How could you feel undeserving? I just wanted to give you flowers." Situ Xuan smiled faintly, for some reason, seeing Jian Anning’s expressions become rich because of him filled his heart with joy.
"Call me William." Suddenly, Situ Xuan’s grey-blue eyes flickered, and a faint smile appeared on his lips, "Mr. Situ, Mr. Situ, it seems, has made the relationship between us sound a bit distant."
"Mr. Si...William." Jian Anning said, "Every time you give me such expensive things, it’s a bit much for me to take."
Situ Xuan stood with hands behind his back, upright and proud, the epitome of a dominant male presence, "For a man to win a woman’s heart, no gift is too extravagant."
Jian Anning suddenly didn’t know what to say. Situ Xuan, unlike Yu Zexiao’s direct physical contact, was equally assertive, equally irresistible. But he did it with his own methods, infiltrating her life from all angles, leaving her no room to escape or refuse.
He was both assertive and gentle, both attentive and meticulous. If he were a little more domineering, she might have refused without hesitation. If he hesitated a bit more, she would have persuaded him not to go to such lengths.
But he always seemed to act within what she could bear. Agreeing with him seemed wrong, yet refuting him also felt inappropriate, and in that moment, she didn’t know what to do.
She couldn’t handle it, and the same went for Yu Zexiao during shooting.
