"What’s wrong? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?" Yu Zexiao looked around, but she didn’t seem to have any obvious injuries, and he couldn’t tell if anything was amiss.
"Everywhere else is fine, it’s just that my ankle is really hurting." Jian Anning also shifted her body a bit and helplessly discovered that there were no major issues with her entire body, except for this leg.
"Really?" Yu Zexiao looked puzzled, stretched out his large hand, and with a simple effort, he embraced her in his arms. Jian Anning was taken aback, before she could react, the next second, she had fallen into Yu Zexiao’s embrace. His sturdy legs supported her, his strong arms held her, and his warm embrace gently encircled her.
She lay sideways, held in Yu Zexiao’s arms. It was a fall evening, and they were at the bottom of a valley, with the mountain wind blowing in. Her clothes had been peeled away by him, leaving her a little shivering from the cold, and she, like a soft little animal, curled up in his warm embrace, still holding onto his arm, drawing from the abundant heat within him.
Yu Zexiao gently furrowed his brow, kneading around her body while he scolded, "Where does it hurt? Speak up! You’re so clumsy, can’t even walk properly! If it wasn’t for me, you would surely be dead by now! Aren’t you going to thank me quickly?"
She watched Yu Zexiao’s strikingly handsome profile as he searched her body for wounds, his tone harsh and his brow furrowed, displaying a haughty, arrogant demeanor. Yet, the concern in his voice couldn’t be hidden...
She had always known that Yu Zexiao was a man with a bad temper, arrogant and conceited, his words not matching his heart, a venomous tongue, and to top it off, his obsession with cleanliness was excruciating. His interest in her body had long surpassed any psychological needs, but she could still hear that he cared about her.
Just thinking back to how he had leaped from the cliff, tightly embracing her, the shock of that moment could easily outweigh all of his little faults, all of his minor defects!
Tell me, when you face danger, what could be more moving, more worth cherishing, than the emotions felt in a life-or-death moment by a man who can disregard his own life to save you?
If she said that last night, although she had agreed to be with him under his aggressive pursuit, it was only now that she truly felt this man was a curse she could never overcome in her life!
"Thank you." Suddenly, Yu Zexiao actually heard Jian Anning say these words, and he was momentarily stunned. Looking down, he saw her in his arms, simply stretching out her slender arms, gently wrapping them around his neck. Like a koala, she clung firmly to him.
