The Last King Of Darkness Chapter 499

After fully understanding the situation, a flame lit up in Rod’s heart.

"This battle is so important, I should be able to harvest quite a bit of Divinity, right?"

Although he did not know when the next Star Flash moment would be, having a bit more Divinity prepared was always a good thing.

And with so many monsters, if he could harvest more souls, he wouldn’t have to worry about the next Star.

The Star Shuttle had consumed tens of millions of souls, which seriously troubled Rod at that time.

Once his thoughts were settled, Rod no longer dwelled on them and continued chatting with the warriors.

The topic of their conversation naturally revolved around the Trolian expansion battle.

Most of the warriors were supportive of the Kingdom’s expansion, believing that humanity could only continue to move outward and become stronger in order to survive.

Besides the crisis in the Trident River Region, the overall expansion effort was going very smoothly. The Royal City had deployed ten legions, capturing a vast area of land in a very short time.

A large number of logistical and production personnel followed up, countless Lighthouses were established, and once again, this dark land was illuminated by firelight.

Lighthouses were not just symbols of humanity, but also temporary strongholds, supporting the warriors fighting in the front and guiding those who followed.

Wherever humanity advanced, Lighthouses were erected there.

In the Military War Department, the placement of Lighthouses was an indicator of the smoothness of the advancement.

In the Trident River Region, there were a total of fifty-two Lighthouses, like fifty-two nails hammered into the earth, but the rampaging ant swarm was making them wobble.

No wonder the Hall was so eager to send us here for support,

Rod thought to himself.

He hesitated, uncertain whether he should stay here or go to support others.

Chucher had mentioned the complexity of the situation and let them make their own judgments.

After pondering for a while, Rod decided to stay at the Lighthouse for two days to observe the situation first.

The warriors, of course, warmly welcomed Rod’s decision.

Having a Hall-Level elite warrior guarding them was a blessing they could not ask for more.

Over the next two days, they truly experienced the extraordinary might of a Hall-Level warrior.

He possessed exceptional Spiritual Vision, always able to detect the attacking Demonized Ants from afar, and chose different tactics according to the size of the ant swarm, always maximizing their advantage.

His combat skills were unbelievably exquisite. The use of his sword and shield had reached the level of a master. Slash, block, stab, cut—each movement was incredibly swift, smooth, and efficient. Simplicity and sharpness were his greatest traits, and his killing amidst the hordes was like an art form.

But it was his methods that were most unimaginable.

His sword and shield, shining like starlight, were incredibly sharp and sturdy; no monster could withstand a single blow from them.

The Star Shuttle was immensely powerful and efficient; whenever he pointed his index finger at a monster, the warriors could already picture its tragic death.

Beyond that, he could summon strange constructs and possessed powerful bombs.

Under the leadership of such a strong warrior, the horrifying Demonized Ants were slaughtered by them, leaving the Lighthouse no longer under any substantial threat.

The warriors felt as if the sky had brightened; even the boundless Black Fog outside the firelight seemed less terrifying.

Rod was also very pleased as he had gained a lot in the past two days, eliminating more than five hundred Demonized Ants, obtaining over seven hundred thousand souls, and quite a few Complete Souls.

His Spiritual Energy had not only not depleted, but due to the aftermath of the "Awakening," he had returned to Peak condition.

Just as he was considering staying for a few more days, he suddenly saw a flashing distress signal in the distance.

It was a sphere of changing colors, with the red background indicating an urgent situation.

This was a specially made signal flare.

The light it emitted could shine far away. Rod estimated that it was at least twenty thousand yards.

It must be another Lighthouse.

Without half a second’s hesitation, Rod briefly said farewell to the warriors, then dashed into the Black Fog.

The light of the Lighthouse gradually faded, and the thick Black Fog enshrouded him, but Rod already knew the direction and with a fall and rise of Spiritual Energy under his feet, his speed quickly surpassed two hundred yards.

In half an instant, Rod saw another shining Lighthouse, and underneath, the swarm of Demonized Ants.

To his surprise, the number of ants was not many, at a glance, merely nine.

But they were much larger than the previously encountered Demonized Ants, clad in thick blue carapaces, with many warriors fiercely battling them.

Drawing closer, Rod noticed their Soul Waves were exceptionally turbulent, like serrated edges, with ten distinct kinks in the Spiritual Energy waveform.

These were Strong Monsters!

Rod was startled in his heart.

There were nine Strong Monsters here!

Though only Primary Rank, they were still Strong.

He had never confronted a threat of this level before when he was in Star Town, the most significant threat being a single Middle Rank Strong Chaos Demon.

He had never encountered more than two Strong Monsters at once.

Rod quickly rushed over to them, soon identifying the warriors leading the battle against the creatures.

It was Lannis, the freeloader, and Cilly, the freeloaded.

Lannis was enveloped in a Gale, the powerful wind forming a barrier that could ward off the attacks of the Demonized Ants and grant him unimaginable speed.

He relied on these two features to weave back and forth, single-handedly holding off the nine Strong Monsters.
