At this time, she didn’t dare to eat much of anything. She ordered a bit of food at the soymilk shop and after having a few bites, she stopped eating once her stomachache lessened. Then, she proceeded to pack up the remaining food to be taken home.
Xu Xinduo couldn’t eat a lot at once whenever she got extremely hungry as she had to incorporate a timely gap of 30 to 60 minutes in between bites.
She couldn’t be unreasonable to her lover, but apparently, she could be unreasonable to her own body.
While waiting for the bus, Xu Xinduo sent a message to Brother Zhang, telling him that she finished her shooting.
[Zhang Ge]: We’re going out to a scenic location tomorrow, so make sure to be prepared in advance.
[Xu Xinduo]: Alright.
After sending the message, she sent another message to Tong Yan.
[Xu Xinduo]: I finished shooting.
[Tong Yan]: That lasted quite long. Have you had dinner?
[Xu Xinduo]: Yes. I plan to go home and wait for Deyu to pick me up.
[Tong Yan]: I will wait for you at your place.
[Xu Xinduo]: Don’t you have to practice the piano today?
[Tong Yan]: I already did that for the entire afternoon! I’m going to collapse!
[Xu Xinduo]: Continue to practice, my little piano king.
[Tong Yan]: Fine, okay… Let’s video call each other when you get home.
The next day, Brother Zhang directly sent a location address to Xu XInduo, but he did not intend to send Xu Xinduo there.
[Brother Zhang]: Go to this place. After you arrive, contact the person who gave you your business card. Then, there will be a company car to take you to the shooting location. Today, I will discuss the contract with your sister, Jiao Jiao.
[Xu Xinduo]: Alright.
Xu Xinduo contacted De Yu and hitched a ride to the said location.
Xu Xinduo arrived early as the company car had yet to show up. She told De Yu to stop at the parking lot so she could wait for them in the car.
The contacted staff told Xu Xinduo that they were arriving soon. Xu Xinduo then immediately put on her coat and prepared to get out of the car.
De Yu stopped her and said, “Why are you so anxious to get down? Wait for the car to arrive before going down, okay? You get cold easily, don’t you?”
“I don’t want them to see me in a car.”
“That makes sense. You’re going to work in a luxury car and you’re also a really beautiful girl; it would be hard to avoid criticism. Wear your coat properly, alright? Don’t freeze out there.”
Xu Xinduo got out of the car after giving a hum of agreement. However, the person who contacted her did not seem to be very reliable. Although he told Xu Xinduo that he was about to arrive soon, he did not arrive until ten minutes later.
After Xu Xinduo got in the van, the enthusiastic staff said with a smile, “Sorry, there was a really bad traffic congestion at the intersection just now.”
“It’s okay, I only had to wait for a bit.”
They had to join the others on-site. Coincidentally, De Yu drove the car and left at the same time. The driver of the van saw the pink Porsche 911 and immediately commented, “Look at that, it must be a mistress who’s driving.”
Xu Xinduo glanced at the driver for a brief moment and ignored the driver all the way, answering the driver with only perfunctory responses.
She didn’t like this kind of stereotypical prejudice against women; it basically implied that women succeed because they could rely on men.
The makeup artist reached out and held onto Xu Xinduo’s face to inspect it in detail. Then, she said, “Did you apply a facial mask at home last night?”
“Yes, I did.”
“The foundation is pretty solid.. We will apply your makeup in the car with such conditions, so get used to it for a bit.”
“Okay.”
