Eleanor Hollis smiled and ruffled his hair, "Once you start school, you’ll make other friends. Marcus is so well-behaved; many people will like him."
The child has grown up, and Marcus is now somewhat recovering. As long as he is willing, he can definitely interact normally with others.
Hugo Quinn nodded in agreement, thinking that it was good to let the child interact more with his peers. Staying home all day would only worsen his condition.
The decision about Marcus attending school was made just like that, but it was already October, while the school reporting date was in September, indicating they had clearly missed the enrollment period.
However, since Marcus’s father is Hugo Quinn, Hugo made a call, and Marcus soon became a first-grade student about to enroll.
Hugo knew Marcus was intelligent and had long mastered simple arithmetic, so he didn’t plan to send him to kindergarten but instead directly arranged for him to join first grade.

Marcus smiled; compared to his previously somber self, he had indeed transformed into a popular little sprout.
"His class is 1-A. This is Marcus’s future homeroom teacher. Mr. Quinn, Mrs. Quinn, please come this way to the office building to complete the enrollment procedures for the child."
Because Marcus was holding Eleanor’s hand, the principal instinctively assumed Eleanor was Hugo’s wife.
After all, Hugo’s divorce from Grace Lynch was a matter of high society, and the principal surely didn’t know about it as he wasn’t much concerned with Serenford’s entertainment gossip.
Eleanor wanted to explain but decided to drop it, pulling Marcus along behind the principal.
By the time the procedures were finished, it was already noon at twelve o’clock. Eleanor crouched down to give Marcus some pieces of advice and then left together with Hugo.
This was Marcus’s first time engaging with the public, and Hugo was quite worried, but he thought that since it was his son, he shouldn’t be lacking.
Eleanor and Hugo got into the car, which directly headed towards the company’s direction.
She feared that if others at Grandeur found out about her sharing a car with Hugo, so before reaching Grandeur, she asked to get off.
Hugo’s face instantly darkened, "You really don’t want to be associated with me?"
Eleanor apologized with a smile, "I feel like everyone in the top-tier office is quite gossipy. If someone saw me getting out of your car, they’d probably think I’m being kept by you."
Hugo saw her expression and curled his lip slightly, "If they wanted to suspect, they would’ve done so long ago. Don’t forget about that thing in the cafeteria."
Speaking of this, Eleanor got somewhat upset.
Now, those women in the top-tier office who have secret crushes on Hugo are stealthily waiting for her to make a mistake, all because of that thing involving this man that day.
Seeing that she was firm in her attitude, Hugo did not compel her and instructed Lan Yancy to drive.
Eleanor waited until the car had been gone for a while before she walked towards Grandeur’s gate.

"Did you come so soon?"

"You bet, the manager of the department, a thirty-something old woman, probably thought I got in through improper connections. She already started to make things difficult for me this morning. Tsk, old maiden."
Eleanor began to laugh, noticed the elevator had already come down, waved her hand, "I took leave this morning, heading up first."
Gloria nodded, then swagged back to the department with confidence.
This time she must cherish the opportunity, at least should make decent progress at Grandeur.
Eleanor arrived at the top tier, placed the documents she held on the desk, and was about to take out the contract from her drawer when her hand felt something soft.
She almost instantly withdrew her hand, shrieking.

"It’s a snake... in my drawer."
Lan Yancy’s brows immediately became sharp, he kicked her desk over, and a small red snake promptly poked its head out from amid a pile of documents.
Eleanor took a step back, feeling her legs go weak. Looking at the bright color, it’s evident this is highly venomous, thankfully she wasn’t bitten.
The snake was small, probably only ten centimeters long. Lan Yancy raised his foot and stepped firmly on the seven-inch spot, resolving it instantly.
He picked up the little snake and threw it into the trash can. "Miss Hollis, I’ll get someone to check the surveillance, don’t worry."
Eleanor was still shivering all over, goosebumps on her arms standing up.
The surrounding people instantly began whispering.
"Did she offend someone?"
"If bitten, her hand would have to be amputated. The person who put the snake is really ruthless."
Eleanor also heard everyone’s words, feeling unsettled as she sat back at her position.
Her drawer had already been checked by Lan Yancy, besides that small snake, there was nothing else.
She sighed in relief, picked up the documents on the floor, while Lan Yancy also entered the office.
A moment later, the internal line rang, she steadied herself slightly, then answered.
"Come in, let me have a look."
Hugo said these words and hung up, but his voice was full of concern.
Eleanor thought for a moment, then went into the office.
As soon as she shut the door, Hugo pulled her hand to examine it, his face very serious.
"That snake is highly venomous, you’re very lucky, fortunately you’re okay."
Eleanor looked down at him, genuinely feeling this man’s care, because one’s gaze cannot lie to people.
Hugo suddenly pulled her into an embrace, gently patting her back, as if soothing a child.
