Claire Shaw is exactly , always fearless and self-assured.
The muscles on Evan Yancy’s face were twitching, and Hugo Quinn beside him didn’t stop him; if Eleanor Hollis had been the one kidnapped today, he might have already fired, not bothering with so much talk.
"Do you really think you did nothing wrong?"
Evan Yancy’s body was tense, looking coldly at Claire Shaw.
Claire lifted her head. What did she do wrong? Wasn’t it her right to fight for her happiness?

Claire was trembling all over in fear, yet the intense pain kept her exceptionally clearheaded.
She slowly retreated, seeing the smoking muzzle again, her face going whiter and whiter, finally swallowing hard.
"Claire Shaw, unless bullets hit you, you don’t feel pain at all. A woman like you, living is a waste of air. I’m going to send you on your way right now!"
Evan Yancy had long since lost all reason. Just as he was about to load another bullet and shoot through Claire’s forehead, his hand was held down. Hugo Quinn, who had been silent until now, finally spoke.
"If you kill her, it’s the death penalty for you too. Who will take care of Samantha Sullivan?"
Evan finally calmed down, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at Claire, reluctant to let this woman go just like that.

His words were so heartless. At that moment, Claire felt just how ridiculous she was. She stood there dazed, the two wounds on her body bleeding profusely. She felt like she was about to pass out.
Yet Evan was not about to let her go. He slowly raised his hand, the dark muzzle pointed at her again.

She slowly retreated, seeing the immense murderous intent in Evan’s eyes.
Claire had never been so scared in her life. If given the chance, she would never dare treat Samantha like that again.
"Evan, you can’t kill me, you can’t kill me, Hugo, Hugo, I’m begging you, let me live, I don’t want to die, don’t want to..."
She rambled incoherently, her heart convulsing, as if she would faint any second,
but she never heard Hugo speak, and despairingly closed her eyes.
A series of bullets exploded around her, she screamed, rolling on the ground in panic.

Jude looked at them without speaking for a moment.
After a long while, he seemed to find his voice again.
If Claire was dead, it would be a huge trouble. Even if he wanted to stand by these two, he couldn’t.
"No, just got shot in both shoulders."
Hugo replied. When he heard Jude say that, he knew this brother hadn’t let them down; at least in his heart, he was on their side.
Jude sighed in relief, "I knew you guys wouldn’t act recklessly. As long as she’s not dead, everything is negotiable. Just think about how to explain it to the Ford Family."
Hugo and Evan nodded, swaggering away from the scene.
The news about Claire getting shot in the villa quickly spread. Nina Shaw and Felicity Ford, who were still looking for Old Master Ford, immediately rushed back.
Claire had already been taken to the hospital by Jude, who was waiting nonchalantly outside in the hallway.
Nina and Felicity arrived, their faces filled with anger.
As soon as he spoke, Nina slapped him hard.

Jude slowly lowered his eyes. Ever since he was young it was ; no matter what mistakes Claire made, it was him, the brother, taking the blame. The family’s love always belonged to Claire alone.
Sometimes, his heart would feel unbalanced, even wishing that sister would just die.
But after so many years, he had gotten used to it and became indifferent.
Probably because of the family’s attitude, he never felt much for that sister, even seeing her shot and lying on the ground filled him with no emotion; instead, he thought about how to get Evan and Hugo out of this mess.
Felicity began to cry on the side, thinking of Claire’s fragile body getting shot, it made her heartache.
"Hugo and Evan really went too far this time. Claire can’t suffer these injuries in vain. When she wakes up, I want to ask thoroughly what happened!"
Jude covered his face without a word. He had already heard; Claire had let a group of homeless men defile Samantha. No wonder Evan and Hugo were furious. His eyes flashed with sarcasm. That woman owed her life to her birth.
If he were Evan, he would probably have shot her on the spot. He knew full well how much Evan cared for Samantha, the woman at the center of his heart, how could she be treated like that!
