The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad Chapter 205

The little kitten was already injured, lying in the grass pile and looking at her with a bewildered face.

Eleanor Hollis instantly felt a pang of compassion, picked up the kitten, looked around, and thought it might be a stray cat that had given birth here.

She took the kitten inside, asked the servant to bring some goat milk, and began feeding it.

The kitten was probably starving and immediately started sucking on the bottle with a "slurp", holding it tightly with its paws like a baby.

A touch of softness swept through Eleanor’s heart.

Once the kitten was finally full, she treated its leg wound and bandaged it.

By the time Hugo Quinn came downstairs, the kitten was already asleep. She had given it a bath, avoiding the injured area, and placed it on the sofa.

Hugo approached and, seemingly sensing something, furrowed his brows.

Sitting on the sofa, he immediately saw the kitten sleeping soundly. He moved his lips but said nothing.

"Isn’t it adorable? I found it outside. It looks so pitiful, probably only about a month old."

Eleanor held the kitten and placed it in front of Hugo.

"Look, its fur is pure white, like a snowball."

Hugo moved his body slightly to avoid contact with the cat.

His tone was evidently perfunctory, and without looking at the kitten again, he went to the refrigerator.

Eleanor held the kitten and thought to herself that he really was something; do men just not like these soft and cute things?

At noon, Lan Yancy came in, but by then Hugo had already gone upstairs.

Lan Yancy saw the cat napping on the sofa, and his expression changed.

Eleanor’s heart skipped a beat, sensing the seriousness in Lan Yancy’s voice, and she quietly raised her hand.

"I picked it up, what’s wrong?"

Finding out the cat’s owner was Eleanor, Lan Yancy had nothing to say but could understand why the cat was still alive.

"Miss Hollis, the boss is allergic to cat hair, and it’s quite severe. When he was a child, a reaction almost cost him his life, and the little ancestor has inherited this trait, so there can absolutely be no cat in the villa."

Eleanor was taken aback, but Hugo had just now not said anything to stop her; could it be he didn’t want to ruin her fun?

Looking forlornly at the little kitten, she could only call Gloria Galloway, asking her to help take care of the cat.

Gloria had always planned to get a pet but hadn’t decided what to get. Seeing the opportunity presented to her, she readily agreed and rushed out to buy the essentials for raising a cat. Meanwhile, Eleanor immediately sent the cat over herself. ᴛhis chapter is ᴜpdated by 𝔫𝔬𝔳𝔢𝔩·𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢·𝔫𝔢𝔱

Gloria rented an apartment outside. Though the place was spacious, she lived a life of chasing stars without many friends. Having a cat now was quite nice.

"Eleanor, this cat is quite pretty. It’s a pity you can’t keep it. Hey, you’ve been with Hugo for so long and still didn’t know he’s allergic to cat hair?"

Eleanor shook her head; since he had never proactively mentioned it, how could she know?

"Gloria, is it okay to leave the cat here? Please take good care of it. It still has injuries and can only be fed milk powder, and it has to be goat milk powder."

Gloria nodded and took the kitten into her arms.

"Don’t worry; you can always come by to visit."

After giving all the instructions, Eleanor drove back to the villa.

The servants were in the middle of thoroughly cleaning the places where the cat had been. Eleanor glanced at her clothes, fearing any cat hair left behind, and hurriedly went upstairs to change, tossing the entire outfit before heading to the study to see Hugo.

Hugo wasn’t in good spirits. Even though he hadn’t touched the cat, his face was still flushed, and even his arms had turned red.

"I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were allergic."

The doctor was prescribing medication for Hugo, noting that his allergic reaction to cat hair was severe. After seeing him take the medicine, he instructed everyone that no cats should ever come near him again.

Lan Yancy escorted the doctor out, leaving only Eleanor and Hugo in the room.

"How are you feeling? Any better?"

Hugo’s arm and even his face itched, but the doctor had instructed him not to scratch.

"It’s nothing, don’t blame yourself. I saw how much you liked that kitten; I didn’t want to spoil the fun."

Eleanor was both touched and a bit upset, so she sat beside him, gently using her fingers to relieve his itch.

"I’ve already left the cat with Gloria. If you had told me earlier, none of this would have happened. I’m really worried that Marcus might have an allergic reaction when he comes back later."

"Aren’t they cleaning downstairs? If it doesn’t work, let Marcus spend a few more days at the old house."

That was Hugo’s plan, to have Marcus stay at the old house until Sunday; how nice, he and Eleanor would have a couple’s world again.

This morning, the old man said he missed Marcus, so he sent someone to take the child over, leaving the two adults with some leisure.

"Marcus doesn’t really like the old house; he was quite unwilling when he left, so let’s not."

Eleanor gently massaged his arm, noticing the frown on his forehead relax a little, her lips curved slightly.

"Besides cat hair, is there anything else you’re allergic to? I’ll be more careful next time."

Hugo thought carefully for a moment, then shook his head. It seemed that from childhood to adulthood, only cats made him wary. That’s why they never had such pets at home.

Actually, Marcus might really like them. When Marcus had autism, he wanted to use animals to heal him, but unfortunately, Marcus’s allergies were also quite severe, so it was left unresolved.

Allergies come and go quickly, by evening, the rash on Hugo’s face had subsided, leaving only some on his arm.

To express her apology, Eleanor said she would personally cook dinner that night.

So, at four in the afternoon, she started busying herself in the kitchen.

Because Marcus kept clamoring to go home, the old man had no choice but to reluctantly keep him for a few hours before having someone bring him back.

As soon as he entered the house, Marcus called out loudly.

Eleanor peeked her head out from the kitchen, waving her spoon.

"Over here, sit nicely on the sofa. Dinner will be ready soon."

But Marcus didn’t obediently sit on the sofa; instead, he went to the kitchen.

"Mommy, can you make cookies? The school is having an event, and we need to bring something to sell ourselves. I thought about it, and cookies are the most popular."

Marcus’s eyes were sparkling as he looked at Eleanor.

Eleanor paused her hand holding the spoon, touching her chin.

"We’ll need to buy some dried strawberries."
