Gloria Galloway is currently living alone temporarily, so Samantha Sullivan moved in with her to keep each other company.
"You both should rest well. How do you plan to deal with this child, Samantha? When you’ve made up your mind, just let me know."
Eleanor Hollis leaned against the door, speaking worriedly, and sighed.
Samantha caressed her belly, her eyes flickering.
She had already tested with a pregnancy test in the morning; she was indeed pregnant.
Now, whenever she closed her eyes, she would think of those days. At that time, she could have struggled, the man wasn’t unreasonable, but she did not.

That’s how those three days happened. She kept saying she loved Evan Yancy but chose her parents, who weren’t even good to her, without hesitation. She’s foolish, foolish beyond help. We won’t allow Evan to be with her again. With Evan’s prospects, any woman would suffice; why hang on one tree?"
The more Hugo spoke, the more Eleanor’s heart sank.
Back then, when she burst into the Sullivan Family and saw the scars on Samantha’s wrist, she instinctively thought it was her parents who tied her to the bed. Yet, she overlooked how naturally the man greeted Samantha when coming out of the bathroom.
Samantha was her friend; she hoped she could find happiness, but she had no words for this matter.
She took a deep breath, knowing Hugo was likely angry too, and quickly advised him to drink less.
Hugo rubbed his forehead and glanced at Evan, who was already unconscious from being drunk. This was the first time they had seen Evan lose control .
"Eleanor, no matter how this matter unfolds, there’s no room for reversal. Stay at home; I’ll return right away."
Eleanor nodded and hung up the phone, feeling heavy-hearted.
She always knew that Samantha cared a lot about her family—truly, tremendously. Back then, it was because of her brother that she broke up with Evan, and now once again, because of her parents, she abandoned her love and carried the child of an irrelevant man.
Just like Hugo said, her choices were indeed foolish.
Eleanor knocked her own head, thinking that if it were her, knowing her parents weren’t good, she should cherish the man who was good to her.
The KTV room was filled with the smell of alcohol, Evan already unconscious, while the other few men remained quite sober because, from start to finish, only Evan drank.
Julian Sterling’s face was calm as he swirled his goblet and then smirked slightly.
"Samantha Sullivan doesn’t deserve Evan Yancy. Though you might scold me for saying this, that’s what I feel. Giving up on Evan once or twice seems as if she didn’t really love him that much."
He originally thought upon saying this, the other two men would reprimand him, but they remained silent.
Even Jude Shaw, who was usually good at easing tension, hadn’t spoken for a while now.
He privately agreed with Julian Sterling. After what happened at the Sullivan Family’s place, he felt Samantha was unworthy of Evan. Such a woman was truly foolish, thinking herself free-spirited but unable to discern the most basic matters.
"You guys send him back then."
Hugo didn’t want to comment, glanced at his watch, and realized it was getting late.
Jude and Julian nodded and helped Evan up.
They absolutely refused to play matchmaker for those two again, as if they had been blind before.
Hugo also got up, put on his coat, and upon stepping outside, realized it was snowing.
This matter would surely upset Eleanor because Samantha was her friend.
Returning home, Eleanor was indeed still waiting on the couch. Upon seeing him, she mouthed something but ultimately said nothing.

It was already 11:30 PM, with half an hour to go before Christmas Eve, yet it seemed everyone would spend it restlessly.
Eleanor smiled and nestled into his arms.
"I was waiting for you. Come on, let’s get some rest."
She had many things she wanted to say, but in the end, she remained silent.
Lying in bed, she couldn’t help but turn over several times, her heart restless.
Hugo held her in his arms, steadying her body.
"You’ve done your best in this matter, Eleanor. Samantha’s happiness was ruined by her own hand and blames no one else."
Eleanor’s body stiffened and then slowly relaxed.
"Is there really no other way?"
Those two had been entangled for so many years, it truly seemed a shame for them to part in the end.
"There isn’t. Evan has wasted enough years with her. Maybe these years have just allowed him to see Samantha clearly."
Eleanor felt a pang of sadness. Samantha was actually very nice, good to both family and friends.
"Don’t say it like that, Samantha is pitiful."
When her parents died for the Sullivan Family, she was raised by the Sullivan Family, not only acknowledging the deceitful as family but also cherishing this family deeply.
"In every pitiable person, there are despicable traits."
Hugo said this with a cold tone and then closed his eyes.
Only in knowing some of Evan’s past, he understood just how hard the past years had been for him.
His sister’s death left Evan guilt-ridden, yet he never gave up on loving Samantha.
His love for her remained unwavering, despite the many temptations around, his thoughts were always with her.
Yet Samantha had spent these years in frivolity. Although she never truly was with those men, she repeatedly shattered Evan’s heart for the sake of avenging her so-called brother.
She was convinced Evan couldn’t forget her or let her go, and thus acted recklessly.
The room was quiet, faced with Hugo’s anger, Eleanor chose to remain silent.
She wasn’t blindly supporting her friend. At least in this matter, Evan had already done his best.
