The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad Chapter 365

Lan Yancy really wanted to ask where this person got their conclusions. Clearly, the president has been going crazy thinking about her these past few days. Otherwise, why would he have upset his stomach? Wasn’t it just an excuse to see her?

"Miss Hollis, the president wants you to come up."

Eleanor Hollis’s heart trembled, and she started crying on the spot, fragile as a hedgehog stripped of its spines.

Lan Yancy felt a bit helpless because he didn’t know how to comfort a crying woman.

Just then, the elevator doors opened again, and Hugo Quinn appeared inside, looking at the scene indifferently.

Eleanor Hollis turned to run, but as soon as she took a step, her wrist was grabbed.

"Why are you running? Am I going to eat you?"

Eleanor started crying again, not daring to look him in the eye or speak. In front of Hugo Quinn, she felt like a sinner.

Hugo frowned, picked her up horizontally, and walked upstairs.

Eleanor had been suppressing her emotions for too long: the old man’s pressure, her mother’s cruelty, and that divorce agreement...

The more she thought about it, the more uncomfortable she felt, and the tears wouldn’t stop.

Hugo placed her on the hospital bed, thoughtfully took out tissues, and wiped her tears.

"I’m not crying, so why are you? Eleanor Hollis, that was my child."

Hugo’s voice was calm, but seeing the soaked tissues made him sigh eventually.

Eleanor lowered her head, sobbing, her shoulders trembling slightly. She had lost so much weight, looking quite pitiful.

Hugo gazed at her quivering shoulders, his heart softening, and gently reached out to stroke her head.

"Your health isn’t good. Let the doctor do a full-body checkup. Be careful about postpartum depression."

He had just consulted the doctor on this matter. Many pregnant women seem to have such issues. This was already Eleanor’s second miscarriage. He was truly afraid she’d become distraught.

Eleanor’s tears flowed even more fiercely. So, at this moment, he was still concerned about her.

She turned and flung herself into his arms, crying out all the grievances she had been holding onto.

Hugo frowned, and after hesitating for a moment, placed his hand on her back, gently stroking it.

That’s how it is with people. They think they can endure everything, but when someone suddenly cares, they can’t help but want to vent all their negative emotions.

She cried for about half an hour until her voice became hoarse, then buried herself in his arms, unwilling to get up, afraid it was all a dream.

But the doctor who was going to check her health had already arrived and wanted to take her to another room for a detailed examination.

Eleanor left, looking back every few steps. Although Hugo’s face was still like ice, she always felt that beneath the ice was deep tenderness.

After a careful examination, the doctors looked at each other and then slowly nodded.

"Miss Hollis, your body is no longer suitable for pregnancy. Your health was never great to begin with, and this miscarriage has done significant damage. It may take five to ten years for your body to recover, but by then, you may no longer be at an age suitable for pregnancy, so please be careful and take precautions when you and your husband are close."

Eleanor’s shoulders slumped. Can she no longer bear Hugo Quinn’s child?

He must be very disappointed.

She slowly lowered her eyes. If only she had been more careful this time and not gone to that meeting, she wouldn’t have been drugged by Rachel Lynch.

Thinking about Rachel, her own mother, her heart ached again.

The doctor had already informed Hugo of the situation. After all, they were unaware of the couple’s emotional issues, only knowing Eleanor was his wife.

"That’s the situation, Mr. Quinn. Miss Hollis is no longer suitable for pregnancy."

Hugo didn’t say a word, his gaze fixed outside the window. Only after the doctors left did he slowly withdraw his gaze.

Eleanor was escorted back, still with her head down, not daring to look at him.

"Now you know you owe me an apology? Why didn’t you think about this issue more when you had the child aborted?"

Hugo roughly pulled her over, lifted her chin, and seeing the unbearable grief in her eyes, his words of questioning got caught in his throat.

"Do you have any unspeakable difficulties?"

If she had aborted the child due to other issues, he wouldn’t blame her.

Eleanor’s pupils shrank, and Hugo noticed the subtle change.

Hugo’s expression darkened, but he didn’t erupt.

"You do have difficulties but won’t tell me. Eleanor Hollis, let me ask you, do you love me? Are you willing to have my children?"

He had asked her this question before, but after this incident, he started to doubt.

Eleanor almost instinctively nodded, but then, as if remembering something, said nothing else.

Hugo roughly understood. If she loved him, she wouldn’t willingly abort his child. Something unexpected had happened, but she didn’t want to talk about it.

"Don’t think about anything for these next few days, just focus on recovering."

He laid her on the bed, tucking her in with a blanket.

Eleanor clung to his sleeve, not wanting him to leave.

Hugo’s gaze was indifferent as he gently pried her fingers away, then lay down on another bed.

Eleanor’s eyes flashed with a hint of disappointment. Suddenly, as if making a decision, she got out of bed and went to Hugo’s bed, burrowing into his arms.

Hugo looked down, seeing the head snuggling in his embrace, his eyes filled with amused warmth, though his expression remained cold.

"What are you doing?"

Eleanor, like an octopus, tightly wrapped her arms around his waist, refusing to let go, not answering, acting like a brat.

Hugo tried to pull her away for a while, but seeing she wouldn’t budge, he let her be.

For the first time, Eleanor found the courage to do what she wanted, following her heart.

She noticed Hugo didn’t explode, even silently accepted it. Her heart skipped with joy. Could this be the key to dealing with Hugo?

From then on, she was practically glued to him. When Hugo ate, she ate; when Hugo slept, she followed suit, not leaving his side. Follow current ɴᴏᴠᴇʟs on 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭⟡𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘦⟡𝘯𝘦𝘵

In the afternoon, Marcus came to see them, bringing fruit.

"Mommy, the final exam results came out. I got first place in the whole class."

Marcus was holding his final report card, his face full of joy.

"Daddy, Daddy, look, I got full marks on everything."

This time he did very well, and the teacher even praised him profusely over the phone.

Seeing the teacher’s comments on the report card, Hugo’s lips curled into a smile.

Marcus, eyes wide with excitement, spoke up.

"If I say what I want, will Daddy agree to all my conditions?"

After all, it was his first final exam, and as parents, they naturally wanted to fully support him.
