The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad Chapter 65

Eleanor Hollis’s body stiffened, and she even raised her hand to slap the man.

His image was drastically different from usual; right now, he seemed like a rogue.

She tensed her body tightly, shaking off his hand, "Let go!"

She couldn’t wait until tomorrow, she wanted to move out now and never have anything to do with this man again.

The Quinton Family was indeed ; there wasn’t a single good one among them.

Hugo Quinn stood up and pinned her to the wall, his hands tightly clasping her waist.

"Eleanor, what are you afraid of?"

His voice was pleasing, like a deep cello, sounding particularly seductive by her ear.

Eleanor was terrified, scared, this unfamiliar feeling torturing her to the brink of madness.

He used to call her Miss Hollis, but tonight he called her Eleanor with affection.

Eleanor turned her face away, not daring to look at him.

Hugo’s head hurt a little, he took out the keys from his pocket and placed them in front of her.

"Isn’t it the keys you want? Here you go."

Eleanor looked at the keys in front of her, feeling man was toying with her.

She pushed him away and almost fled the place, bypassing Marcus’s room, and went to her own to start packing.

Hugo was too frightening; she couldn’t stay here any longer, or else she had no idea what might happen next.

She packed the pitiful few pieces of clothing she had into her suitcase and noticed the dress Hugo had given her previously hanging on the side.

She hesitated slightly, but still chose not to take it, fearing any further entanglement with the man.

She zipped up the suitcase and was about to leave the room, only to see Hugo standing at her door, his face full of gloom.

For some reason, at that moment, she sensed a dangerous aura, prompting her to take several steps back.

Her teeth chattered, watching as the man entered the room and pushed the door almost closed with smooth and free movements.

"Trying to leave now?"

Hugo tugged at his tie, initially already unhappy, and now even more so after her commotion.

She was indeed eager to leave him, utterly disobedient, hadn’t he said to wait until tomorrow to go?

Did she really not want to stay here a second longer?

"Mr. Quinn, I’ve already contacted my friend, she will help me find a place, truly sorry for troubling you during this time."

Eleanor watched him cautiously, retreating continuously.

Her vigilant posture made Hugo very uncomfortable; she actually thought he’d eat her up or something.

"Eleanor, I’ve already found you an apartment that’s very safe, tomorrow I’ll personally take you there."

But Eleanor shook her head.

That was Hugo’s apartment, implying he had keys to it and could come and go as he pleased.

What was she, a caged canary?

She no longer wanted any entanglement with this man, especially after what just happened, becoming even more determined to leave his side.

"Mr. Quinn, I don’t wish to continue disturbing you, Marcus has improved significantly, and maybe won’t need me anymore. I just called the doctor, and my grandmother is ready to be discharged; I think there’s no further need for us to meet. Thank you for taking me in."

She held her suitcase tightly, struggling to deliver these words.

She felt the atmosphere in the room slowly turning heavy, eventually pressing down on her so she couldn’t breathe.

She keenly sensed Hugo’s anger; his eyes were crimson, like the eyes of a beast.

If she didn’t leave now, something was bound to happen. Latest content publıshed on 𝔫𝔬𝔳𝔢𝔩⁂𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢⁂𝔫𝔢𝔱

Eleanor lowered her head, dragging the suitcase, intending to pass by him.

But Hugo swiftly grabbed her hand, his tone dark and cold, "Really want to leave?"

Was that not obvious?

Eleanor nodded; she was truly terrified of being alone with this man, constantly feeling like prey being watched.

Hugo snatched her suitcase, tossed it aside, and then threw her onto the bed.

Eleanor cowered in fear; the man enraged was truly frightening, yet all she wanted was to leave, she had done nothing wrong.

Eleanor’s mind went blank; she had no idea what she and this man even amounted to...

She wanted to turn her head away, hoping this person would calm down, but Hugo gripped her chin firmly, not allowing her any chance to move.

She was annoyed, ashamed, wishing she could slap him across the face.

She clutched the bed sheets beneath her tightly, shouting loudly, her face already flushed crimson.

"What do you even want? What we’re doing is wrong."

This made her feel dirty, ashamed.

She had always hated women like Grace Lynch, but now, was there much difference between her and Grace?

Hugo stopped, looking at her, his gaze filled with affection.

"Why not call me Mr. Quinn anymore?"

Eleanor had been angry, but upon hearing his matter-of-fact questioning, she suddenly didn’t know what to say.

Hugo slowly propped himself up, holding her down, "Eleanor Hollis, I seem to have taken a liking to you."

The dazed look in his eyes had disappeared, he seemed sobered up.

Eleanor quietly bit her lip, reaching out to clutch the buttons of her clothes, fearing he’d lose his mind and tear them.

She said calmly, trying to push him away.

But Hugo grabbed her hand, brought it to his lips, and kissed it.

"I’m not drunk, I’m very clear-headed. I might really like you, what about you, how do you feel about me?"

Eleanor almost laughed in exasperation, did this person not realize how inappropriate it was to say such things given their relationship?

He was Nathaniel’s uncle, and Nathaniel was her ex-husband; such a complicated relationship wasn’t suitable for being together.

"Mr. Quinn, if I hadn’t gotten a divorce from Nathaniel, I should be calling you Uncle."

She was merely stating the truth, but upon reaching Hugo’s ears, it sounded different.

His eyes slowly narrowed as he leaned in, "You still can’t forget Nathaniel?"

Eleanor didn’t know where he got that idea, but if it could end their entanglement, she’d gladly agree.

She answered bluntly, and then felt a pain in her chin, forcing her to look up at him.

Hugo’s words were almost a command, his gaze carrying a hint of danger.

"You two are divorced, don’t forget, he loves Grace Lynch, has for over ten years, he won’t love you."

Eleanor’s brow furrowed as pain from her chin instantly filled her eyes with tears.
