Little Taotie pointed her fingers and asked in a soft voice, "Then...will you still give me the freeze-dried strawberries?"
"Yes, I’ll give them to you tomorrow!"
"Great! I want strawberry yogurt!" Little Taotie’s eyes sparkled.
The elder took a white porcelain jar from the mini-fridge.
Inside was his homemade yogurt, very thick, so thick that even if he turned the entire jar upside down, not a drop would spill out.
He took a disposable bowl and scooped out some yogurt with a silver spoon, then from the very back of the mini-fridge, he took out a glass jar.
The round, plump glass jar was filled with enticing bright red strawberry jam.
The moment he opened the glass jar, a rich strawberry fragrance wafted out, and Little Taotie’s eyes suddenly lit up—so bright they seemed as if all the scattered stars had suddenly converged into one point, bursting forth with the most dazzling light.
The elder turned around, saw Little Taotie’s adorable expression, and almost burst out laughing.
The little girl’s eyes were wide open, like two glowing bulbs; her rosy little mouth slightly agape, her expression dazed and endearing with suspiciously shiny corners!
The elder cleared his throat, managing to mask his own laughter, then he heaped three big spoonfuls of it on the yogurt, before handing the bowl and spoon over to her.
Little Taotie’s eyes were still fixed on the bright red strawberry can, her hand subconsciously accepting the bowl, not looking at the yogurt and strawberry jam in it but continually staring at the strawberry can!
The elder suspected that if he handed over the strawberry can, she would immediately start eating the jam straight with the spoon!
He shifted his body a bit to block Little Taotie’s view and kept her from seeing the strawberry jam.
Only then did Little Taotie slowly, mechanically, bring her gaze from the jar of strawberry jam back to her bowl.
The snow-white yogurt was chunked up, not in a liquid state but piled like white tofu, the red of the strawberry jam contrasting vividly against the white of the yogurt yet together they appeared quite harmonious and tempting, like red plum blossoms dotted on pure snow.
Little Taotie quickly shut her mouth, just to stop herself from drooling uncontrollably!
She gently tapped the white yogurt with her spoon, and it really was like tofu, even bouncing back a bit!
This wasn’t yogurt to drink; this was yogurt to eat!
Little Taotie couldn’t hold back any longer; she plunged her spoon deep, scooping up a heaping, towering spoonful!
The piled white was like a snowy mountain, the red like erupting magma; this was a mouth-watering ice-fire mountain!
Little Taotie opened her mouth wide; it was rare for her to eat so inelegantly, "Aah" she took a huge bite!
Delicious! Delicious! Delicious!!!
In her little head, nothing remained but praise for the words "yogurt" and "strawberry jam"!
When food is extremely delicious, words to describe its deliciousness become pale, leaving only two words—"Delicious!"
Little Taotie didn’t even have time to comment, continuously spooning mouthful after mouthful into her small mouth, quickly reaching the bottom!
She looked eagerly at the elder, and the meaning in her large, watery, sparkling eyes could be understood without words.
The elder looked at her small stature, reminiscent of Little Bean, then at the jar of strawberry jam in his hand, hesitated for a moment, and arranged another bowl for her.
It didn’t take long before she reached the bottom of that one too and looked eagerly at him again.
This Little Bean didn’t cry or make a fuss, not like some children who would outright ask; she didn’t ask verbally, just kept staring eagerly, and gradually your heart would soften just watching her.
By the time the elder realized... both the jar of strawberry jam and the yogurt container were empty!
