This type of Taser weapon had a short range, about an arm’s length. The old lady who walked into it was now convulsing, her body limp as she lay on the ground.
Stricken with immense panic, the fear of having all her secrets exposed, she tried to keep her eyes wide open despite her body losing sensation, staring angrily at the two children before her.
Little Taotie looked at the Taser weapon in Hua Jinyan’s hand and gave him a thumbs up, "This is really powerful!"
Hua Jinyan chuckled lightly, "Your fists are formidable too."
Without the robust body of an adult or the strength of Little Taotie, although skillful in agile techniques, he could only take hits when faced with formidable adversaries; therefore, he always carried a weapon.
"What are you doing exactly!" Qiaoqiao’s Dad roared, picking up the phone to call the police.
Little Taotie nodded, "We should call the police."
Little Taotie looked at the woman hiding in Qiaoqiao’s Dad’s embrace, "For things you do not understand, you should let the police investigate. Whether or not Qiaoqiao pushed her, it shouldn’t end with her disfiguring Qiaoqiao’s face! I want to ask the police, if hurting someone doesn’t require jail time, and it can all be resolved just by getting hurt in return? If that’s the case, then why have a police station, why have laws?"
Little Taotie tilted his head, blinking those clear, innocent eyes, in a child-like voice: "Don’t you think so, Qiaoqiao’s stepmother?"
Qiaoqiao had pushed her stepmother, leading to a miscarriage. Qiaoqiao’s dad did not call the police, not because he wanted to protect Qiaoqiao, but because he did not want to air dirty laundry.
But you can’t hide the truth. Combined with the stepmother deliberately spreading the word, eventually almost everyone in the old neighborhood knew.
Later, using the miscarriage as a pretext, the stepmother disfigured Qiaoqiao’s face and still did not call the police; this was Qiaoqiao’s dad deliberately showing bias.
He was protecting his wife. His already disfigured daughter was nothing but an ungrateful burden, her well-being or demise didn’t bother him.

Observing his changing expressions and his continued hesitation to call the police, Little Taotie took out his phone, in a child-like voice: "Then I’ll call the police."
"Wait!" Qiaoqiao’s Dad said anxiously, "This is my family’s business, it’s not for you outsiders to meddle in!"
Little Taotie with a look of innocence: "But Qiaoqiao is my good friend, how could I not care?"
"She’s just a friend. When you grow up, you’ll understand. With so many friends out there, losing one means there will be another. In society, having power, authority, and money, you won’t lack friends!" Qiaoqiao’s Dad said proudly.
Little Taotie furrowed his brow in confusion, looking at Hua Jinyan, "Is that so?"
Hua Jinyan said indifferently, "Those who cling because of power and wealth will also scatter when the mighty fall."
Little Taotie covered his mouth and giggled secretly, "Oh~, so all of Qiaoqiao’s dad’s friends are like the macaques, huh!"
