The change came too quickly, and Little Taotie, Ji Guang, and the eight guests were all a bit overwhelmed.
After a long while, one of the girls sighed deeply, "I got so into the role, I almost forgot that this is just a variety show, and forgot that all the NPCs are actors."
Ji Guang gave the Gardener a thumbs up, "Talking to you, I really believed you were a gardener."
The man playing the Gardener laughed, "I did put a lot of effort into this role; to play it well, I even applied for a real gardener’s job. Although I was fired, I became familiar with the interviewer and got a chance to learn."
The young man plucking flowers beside him teased, "Isn’t it true that you paid ten thousand yuan to get that learning opportunity and sneak in to apprentice with a gardener?"
"One should not be like you; seeing through the truth but not revealing it is virtuous!"
The director called, "Cut!"
The director walked over from a distance, grinning, "Those last bits will make great behind-the-scenes footage. The audience will love your stunned expressions."
Little Taotie blinked and suddenly asked, "Is this true?"
"Huh?" The director was taken aback and didn’t catch on.
Ji Guang clarified, "She’s asking whether the case is real or if the show made it up for dramatic effect."
The director answered seriously, "All the cases in the show are adapted from real cases. There might be some differences, but they aren’t major. The parts that are changed are those that are too gory or too brutal to broadcast. The general plot remains unchanged."
Little Taotie curiously asked, "Are future cases all real too?"
The director nodded, "Yes, and we’re looking forward to Little Taotie solving them."
Little Taotie touched her toy pipe and nodded, "I definitely will solve them!"
The director could tell, out of everyone, Little Taotie had the most talent for solving cases!
The director was a detective drama fanatic; he wouldn’t produce this show if he didn’t love the genre.
Seeing Little Taotie dressed up as Little Sherlock Holmes, he felt a kindred spirit, being a Sherlock Holmes fan himself!
"Little Taotie, let’s take a photo." The director took out a digital camera, wanting a shot with Little Taotie, especially with her in her Sherlock Holmes outfit.
Little Taotie tilted her head, puzzled, "Are you a fan of mine too?"
The director chuckled awkwardly, "Sort of." He couldn’t let the child be disappointed.
Little Taotie nodded her little head, cooperating with the photo, making a heart gesture to the camera, "This is a fan service~"
A heart gesture as fan service? The director laughed heartily, "Then let’s take a few more, give me a bit more of that fan service."
Little Taotie pulled out a Seal of Little Beast Bai Bai, asking, "Do you want an autograph?"
The director had heard that Little Taotie’s autograph was unique, using a seal. He removed his blue hat and pointed to the brim, "Stamp one here."
Little Taotie stamped a Little Beast Bai Bai.
Everyone crowded around to see, fascinated by the Little Beast Bai Bai, clamoring to have Little Taotie stamp theirs.
Little Taotie hid her little seal and said seriously, "I can’t stamp for you, I only stamp for my fans. This is fan service."
The girl cooed, "Is it too late to become your fan now, Zaizai? Stamp one for sister~"
Little Taotie hesitated, "You need to join my fan group or follow my D music, W blog..."
The girl immediately took out her phone, followed, and joined the group, not missing a beat.
"Now I’m Zaizai’s fan, quickly stamp for me!"
