He Wei did not expect that Old Master Jing would say that. She looked up in surprise. “Grandpa, is that true? ”
Old Master Jing’s smile deepened when he heard her calling him “Grandpa” instead of his family name. “Of course it’s true.”
“Thank you, Grandpa!” With Old Master Jing’s promise, at least when she pursued Jing Yan, the old man would not help He Miao. How could He Wei not be happy?

Seeing her, Jing Yan hung up the phone in a hurry, snuffed out the cigarette in his hand, and put an arm around her shoulder. “Miaomiao, grandpa’s illness had early signs. I didn’t even notice.”
“Alright, Grandpa is fine now.” He Miao patted his back to comfort him, as if she was comforting a wronged Onion.
According to He Miao’s observation of the Jing family, Jing Yan’s parents passed away a long time ago, and Old Master Jing was the closest person to him. She could empathize with the pain of almost losing a loved one, so she did not mind him hugging her tightly and just treated it as a comfort.
Jing Yan sighed, his eyes slightly red. He took her hand and said, “Let’s go up. I just took my medicine and feel much better.”
“No!” He Miao took his hand disapprovingly. “You still need to see a doctor. I’ll go with you. Sister is there with Grandpa, so it’ll be fine.”
“He Wei is here.” Jing Yan furrowed his brows in frustration. This woman had been running to grandpa’s side too often recently.
“That’s why you have to hurry up and treat your cold. Only then can you be full of energy to continue taking care of Grandpa!” He Miao pulled him to the reception room with a smile and teased him, “You’re not stalling because you’re afraid of the injection, are you?”
“No, I’m not.” Jing Yan was amused by her mischievous look and could not bear to disobey her. If she wanted to go east, he would never look west.
He Miao accompanied Jing Yan to get an injection before returning to the ward together.
In the room, Grandpa Jing had just fallen asleep when He Wei saw Jing Yan. She lowered her head shyly and said softly, “I heard from grandpa that you were sick. Are you feeling better now?” she asked.
“I feel much better with Miaomiao accompanying me.” Jing Yan turned his head and took He Miao’s hand, his eyes so gentle that one could drown in them.
He Wei looked up at He Miao and saw her struggling to pull her hand back, rolling her eyes at him.
Jing Yan smiled gently the whole time, as if He Miao was the only person in his eyes and heart.
He Wei’s heart felt as if it was suddenly clenched by someone. She looked at them in disbelief. “You two are together?”
“No, we’re not,” He Miao smiled faintly, the strangeness in her heart growing more obvious.
He Wei acted as if she cared too much about Jing Yan. Was it because they used to be the male and female leads in the novel, so He Wei naturally had a good impression of Jing Yan?
He Wei was slightly relieved, but the sense of danger she felt when facing He Miao did not decrease at all. She pretended to hold He Miao’s hand affectionately and smiled. “Sister, grandpa is still sleeping. Why don’t we go out and have a chat? “Alright.” He Miao agreed readily.
However, Jing Yan unhappily took her hand, and his expressionless face revealed a trace of unwillingness. “Come back early tonight. We’ll wait for you to have dinner together.”
“Alright,” she said. He Miao nodded in agreement and left the ward with He Wei.
Once they were out of Jing Yan’s sight, He Wei immediately let go of He Miao’s arm. The two of them walked out of the hospital like a pair of strangers and casually found a restaurant with private rooms nearby to sit down.
“I’ll get straight to the point and not beat around the bush with you. After all, I’m on leave and can’t stay here for too long.” He Wei ordered two cups of coffee and turned to look at He Miao.
“You tell me.” He Miao knew what He Wei was going to say next. She took a sip of coffee and looked at the woman opposite her with a sharp gaze.
He Wei tapped her fingers on the table. Her bright red nails formed a sharp contrast with the pure black marble. “Do you like Jing Yan?”
As expected, He Miao shook her head and laughed. “If I say I like him, will you give up Jing Yan for your sister?”
“I won’t.” He Wei gave a very definite answer. Before she transmigrated into the book, she had already liked the male lead in the book. After she accidentally entered this world, her only goal was to get Jing Yan and realize her dream.
